Hey guys, I came across this gun:

http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_48&products_id=35966

in my basement from a few years ago and remembered it was busted. The only piece that seems to be broken is the valve on the bolt where you put the gas in. So I have a few questions since I might want to fix it up and mess around with it.

Is this gun considered a Type96 so I can get a few extra magazines, and which ones actually work with it?

And also, where can I find the valve I need to make it work?

Thanks for any help!

No, they don't have one of the new black gearboxes. An M130 spring is really pushing it with the gearbox, especially the other components. What do you plan on doing with this gun?

A DMR leans more towards the sniper rifle side. I think what you're looking for is more of an accurized assault role. And for that, those two modifications would be great. You'll also want to look into some internal upgrades as well. A higher velocity spring, metal bushings and metal spring guide would be good. I'd also upgrade your battery to a 9.6v. It'd just make your gun better all around.

The volts is what affects the ROF. The MaH is what affects the longevity of the battery.

A 9.6v such as this one http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_47&products_id=3360 will fit in your gun. It won't be too much for the gun, and the spring in your gun is about an M110 or M120.

As for ammo, go with the .25g, you'll appreciate the extra accuracy. And your fps is plenty fast for it.

Its for shooting competiotions not airsoft.

Then why'd you buy a JG to begin with? If money was not a problem, you should have gotten a higher end gun. The JG will not last very long running at such a high FPS and ROF.

Id recommend you dont do anything you just said you wanted to do. You're just gonna hurt someone with it. I'd focus more on the accuracy. Get a nice tight bore, hop-up, and use .25g ammo. A red dot scope would set it off nicely.

That might be part of it. I'll just keep shooting it for a bit. Also I was wondering if that could be from inconsistent compression which would put more or less speed on the BB making it shoot different? What could i do to test that?

I already cleaned it, a few times. And I am using AE .25's. I have the exact same set up in my G36C and it is a much more consistant shooter. Any more ideas?

AEG Discussion II / G3 Hop-up Consistancy
« on: November 19, 2008, 07:20:19 PM »
Hi, I have a JG G3 with a systema bucking, a white H-nub, and a systema tightbore. My problem is that my hop-up is shooting a bit inconstistent. There are not many problems with it flying left or right, just with it over hopping sometimes and under hopping at other times. Is there anyway I can improve the consistency from shot to shot? Different parts you would recommend? Thanks.

As for the barrel, the one mentioned above will do you just fine. For a hop-up I'd recommend this.

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_170&products_id=421

Then the battery I would go with this.

That's everything you'd need.

It's 41 inches tip to tail. It is a rather large weapon. Depending on what you're using if for and how big you are is a big factor.

AEG Discussion / AK Length Barrel in G3
« on: November 02, 2008, 09:58:11 PM »
I'm looking into getting a new barrel for my G3 and I've come across the Madbull V2 barrels. The thing is they dont make a G3 specific barrel. The closest they have is the AK length which is about 15mm shorter. My main question is will the G3 hopup chamber still work with the barrel and will the 15mm do anything funky that I dont know about? Thanks.

That's weird. I was looking at GI's site the other day and that was listed under JG. Then I went to look a few days later and it was gone. GI must have had it wrong.

Alright. Thanks. Anything else accuracy or range wise I should consider?

I had a claw mount from the beginning. So no need for that. And those were the two tightbores I was looking at; the DBC 6.01 and the Prometheus 6.03. I just wanted to see what all of your opinions were. I was leaning towards the Prommy because it seems like there is too much that can jam with a 6.01 barrel. Anything else besides the tightbore I should invest in? I'm already using AE .25 bb's also.

AEG Discussion II / JG G3 DMR upgrade
« on: October 14, 2008, 09:05:51 PM »
I'm looking into making my G3-SG1 into a DMR. I do have an fps limit of 400 though so dont suggest many fps boosters. So far I have done the following:

Systema Hop-Up Bucking
H-Nub
Teflon Taped the Hop-Up

So my next purchase will be a tightbore. Any recommendations on that? And anything else you'd suggest I get to help improve my accuracy and range would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No. Never buy a gun like that. Price doesnt make it good. You can get a JG M4 for $100 less and it will be ten times better. Don't waste your time.

AEG Discussion II / Re: Durablilty on JG G3-SG1
« on: September 12, 2008, 07:23:30 PM »
It does have metal gears. In order to replace the spring guide and bushings you will have to open the gearbox, which may prove difficult."Only" 390 FPS? 390 is quite high. Getting a stronger spring will not be necessary.
The only was referring to the black gearboxes which are shooting in excess of 420 fps.

Bottom line is if you dont have any experience with gearboxes you should go with the echo1 since you will not have to replace the bushings.

It does not have a metal spring guide but does have metal bushings.

Since this gun isn't one of the new black gearboxes its only shooting anywhere from 350-390 fps. The plastic spring guide will hold up for a very decent amount of time. The bushings will also last quite a while but it would be a smart move to replace them with metal ones. If you have any experience with gearboxes, it is an extremely simple job. If not, have a friend help you. And yes, it has metal gears.

AEG Discussion II / Re: what kind of rof will a 9.6 intellect give me?
« on: August 26, 2008, 05:52:31 PM »
We can't really predict that for you. Everysingle gun is different. Your best bet is to just try it. No matter what it will be faster than using a standard 8.4v.

23
I got a set of their standard ratio gears and the shaft of the sector gear was bent, I ended up having to use the stock gears because it was worthless. I was a little dissapointed to say the least. They may be a copy of Prometheus gears, but they dont exactly have the same quality control.

AEG Discussion / Lose Full Auto With 6.01 Tightbore?
« on: August 20, 2007, 11:26:27 AM »
I have a G36C and I was looking into getting a Dees Custom 6.01 tightbore for it. I was wondering if you will lose your ability to use full auto because of the constant jamming that might occure. If I used AE bbs, will I have a problem with the full auto? Thanks

AEG Discussion II / Which hop-up bucking with an M120?
« on: July 03, 2007, 06:05:22 PM »
Which hop-up bucking would you recomend that I get for my JG G36C? It will have a Systema 6.04 tightbore along with an M120. Would a hard or soft bucking be better for me? Thanks.
