For the visible gas part, there are mock suppressors out there that emit smoke every shot, although they may be hard to find and expensive. A less expensive route to take would be to get an inner barrel that goes to the end of the mock suppressor (assuming you want the threaded barrel to attach a mock suppressor) and spray a good amount silicon oil at the end of the barrel as well as the mag. This should cause the excess oil to spray out, making a smoke effect.

As for the A&K M60, I own the M60E4. Hop-up has been dead-on, and the gearbox is still going strong even after firing 5,000+ rounds in one day. Internally it should last a while.

Basic Training <--- YOUR FIRST POSTS HERE / Re: Dual Pistols Question
« on: March 16, 2011, 12:09:55 AM »
While the effectiveness of using two pistols may be questioned, if you enjoy it by all means go ahead. Airsoft is about having fun, after all.

Onto the subject of armament, then. While I will vouch for KWA's quality as I use one of their USP's as my main sidearm (two gold 1911s being my other sidearms, just for fun:)), magazines for KWA's tend to be fairly expensive. If you have the money it may be worth going the KWA route and paying for the extra mags. You could also look into metal TM 1911 clones which have cheap mags but are usually found in overseas retailers, making shipping pretty expensive. The WE (or Socom Gear) 1911s have cheap mags but they have a relatively low mag capacity and apparently don't hold much gas. The WE (or again Socom Gear) M9s have similarly priced mags but a higher ammo capacity. Of course there are many other models out there that you could look into. You might want to look around different retailers online and see what's out there. If you live close to a store, you could go over there and check out some models in person.

Did you check the trigger contacts?

The low-end guns were not designed to be fiddled with. Your best option is to keep it as it is.

Actually, the "rail" the the frame of the USP is not a 20mm rail. It is not designed for weaver rail accessories. If you want to add a weaver LAM, you will have to get an adapter.

Problem Solving / Re: Echo 1 M4A1 LE Stock fell off

The back end of the stock tube should have a cap on it held on by a small screw in the bottom. Romove the cap and then you can reattach the stock tube to the receiver.

Gas Discussion / Re: KWA mac11 ns2 as primary?
« on: December 14, 2009, 09:55:16 PM »
The major problem with the MAC11 as a primary is that you'll run out of ammo fast, particularly with FA. Even with bursts ammo runs out fast.

Clothing/Gear / Re: MP7 mags in an MP5 pouch?
« on: November 12, 2009, 11:42:13 PM »
I have a leg rig that has three double M4 mag pouches that have velcro flaps. I can fit two in each pouch side-to-side and the velcro allows for fairly fast reloads.

Problem Solving / Re: I need someone to upgrade my L96!!!

A bolt-action gun is the easiest class of guns to disassemble. I am sure you are able to do it. Just look at one of the many disassembly guides on it online and you'll have an upgraded gun in no time.

Just a thought on this clay spacer for tapered barrels: how about clay sandwiched between two layers of paper? That might prevent potential messes and would allow for easy removal, not to mention also allow for a molded spacer.

Perhaps I missed something, but why don't you return the old ones? I am pretty sure that the store where you got it from would understand.

Clothing/Gear / Battle Belt questions
« on: October 29, 2009, 05:12:01 PM »
Is there a way to attach drop-leg platforms or non-MOLLE gear (such as a belt-mounted dump pouch) to a battle belt or the belt that in side of the battle belt?

I used to have one vest similar to the first one, however I found that it got quite tiresome and overly warm. I would suggest the HSGI Wasatch (or a clone of it). Plenty of ventilation and plenty of real estate. It can hold up to 10 M4 mags in the integrated pouches and has MOLLE loops on the front for whatever else you want, plus MOLLE loops on the back for water bladders, etc.

If you play in woodland, I would really recommend CADPAT.

EBB/Mini-Electric/LPEG/AEP / Re: Galaxy MP7, still in production?
« on: October 23, 2009, 11:35:11 PM »
From the reviews I read, it seems that the Galaxy has issues with the mag catch wearing out extremely quickly since it is made of a soft plastic.

Misc. Weapons / Re: M203 mounting on MASADA; stable?
« on: October 20, 2009, 08:08:01 PM »
People, including me, have put M203s on G36s and I have not had any problems and I have not heard of anybody else having problems, so I am sure that the Masada will handle it fine.

Gas Discussion / Re: Bell EG723 - TM-compatible??
« on: October 20, 2009, 08:06:00 PM »
Since it is TM compatible, that means anything compatible with TM will work. Both TM and Army mags will work, although I heard Army mags have some issues.

I have found out the Mk43 can be used with a mask, so I'm definately getting that even though its ugly :P
BLASPHEMY! BURN, THOU HEATHEN!
Anyway, that just means I think it looks good, but each to his own :)
As for the original purpose of this topic, I have to ask, exactly how often are you going to use the iron sights? It is an LMG, after all.

About the bandoleer in the link, I would be worried about your grenades accidentally falling out. I think it would be best to use pouches.
As for cheaperthandirt.com, last time I checked they did not have such a thing there, but maybe you will find one.

AEG Discussion II / Re: JLS RX4 Storm upgrade help
« on: October 17, 2009, 09:49:34 PM »
Here is a review of it: http://www.popularairsoft.com/reviews/beretta-rx4-storm-jls
It looks like it has a version 7 gearbox, so you should be able to put in a new one if you want.

AEG Discussion II / Re: 10.8 volt in a jg s system?

Perhaps you could look into a better motor and a slightly downgraded spring.

The 40mm bandoleer is a good idea, although in case you would rather save some money, you can make your own bandoleer. How I built mine is I took one of those pistol belt with grommets in them, such as the ones that come with the ALICE web gear, and several MOLLE 40mm pouches. I then attached the pouches to the belt and then used zipties through the grommet and around the MOLLE strap to secure it.

Is it possible that you can make a video of this firing?
