General Airsoft Discussion / Re: ICS-92 GALIL vs Echo1 TROY MRF-MX
« on: February 24, 2013, 03:55:27 AM »
It's 'real' ICS by your terms. I have one and love it. Not sure how it stacks up against the E1.

To answer your question, higher fps = more backspin, lower fps = less. End result= shots all over the place.

I would fix your method of propelling the bb before trying to improve accuracy. An R-HOP may be the best hop-up setup you can get, but it won't serve you well until the bb is passing through it at the same speed every time. 1 or 2 regulators in series is the way to do it with gas guns.

Head over to airsoftmechanics for more details on the r-hop.

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: Gbb scorpion any one?
« on: November 20, 2012, 07:04:29 PM »
Has anyone heard of a brand called aftermath? A friend of mine has an m4 made by them and claims they make a gbb scorpion. After some research i am still not sure. If anyone knows anything about this brand or the gun plz talk about here.

OK also Air soft gi seems to make custom guns I wonder if they could make one.

Aftermath is a (crappy) rebrander - if they ever did carry one, it would have been a maruzen. Asgi cobbles together parts, they don't make entirely new guns.

I'd get an aep skorpion, take out the gearbox and get the dimensions of the space left. Bring us those numbers and we might be able to show you a gbb mechanism that'll fit. It'll all or mostly be custom work, requiring a machine shop.

I run an ICS Galil and it's unusual enough at my field.

Gun Modifications/Parts/Accessories / Re: Aeg barrels in pistols?

With a dremel, anything is possible. That said, EDGI can make you any barrel for a reasonable price.

Gas Discussion / Re: What is the best way to upgrade a we cheap?

First upgrade (in my book) is always bbs. That being said you should do some research on the best bb weight for your weapon and playing style.

Hey, at least he tried with the last pic and had the paper look like it's reflecting some camera flash. Lol.

That's amazing! Well done.

Well THAT was disappointing.

One reason I keep going back is because they are the simplest for me to search and order off of.

They have one of the worst website design and search function out there, in my opinion. I don't feel comfortable doing business with a retailer that can't get their act together with their website.

Is this supposed to be about the excessive force used on Wall Street protesters?

No, UC Davis.

I realize this. but its the only gun i know of that meets his wants. Unless the cyma has a lower fps. Ill actualy check up on that and post a link if hes interested.

And if he's willing to downgrade the spring out of the box to say, a m110, then the whole system should last for a while. Not as long as TM or ICS, but a good amount.

Echo1 is pretty much a jg, theres not much of a differnce as far as i know, id just get this.

That was my first AEG. Spring is way too hot for the internals to last and the hop-up is crap, but it's metal (pot metal at that)

Sniper's Perch / Re: HPA for ARES AW .338
« on: October 10, 2011, 10:10:54 PM »
Do you want Co2 or HPA? Both are possible for a remote setup, but only the CO2 would have any possibility of fitting in the stock.

This is what I understand:

People say that Co2 is less consistent that HPA. But in reality, HPA is more often double regulated (one regulator integrated into the tank, and an additional external one on the gas line) whereas Co2 is usually single regulated. Theoretically there should be no difference if you double regulate.

With that said, if you were to go C02, you'd need a shutoff valve, 1-2 regulators (palmers are the best on the block, if you have two, one is for 800-500 psi and the other is from that down to operating PSI), an adapter to the line you want to use, a line QD male, and 4 females for all your mags. You'd have to drill and tap your mags as well, but there's many guides to that so I won't explain.

Problem Solving / Re: G&G FNC Gearbox Removal

Judging by the design, if there was a pin there, it'd go right though the spur gear.

The Arcade / Re: AS-R Minecraft Server
« on: September 06, 2011, 12:04:12 AM »
I want to add it without having to reinstall my other mods and to know if there are any conflicts...

Also, I have WinRAR and I'm only getting a white screen, some useless links and "under construction." What am I doing wrong ???

You can temporarily move your minecraft jar folder to force minecraft to do a clean install - then move the new files to a different place, and move your original jar file back. Then, you can mod the second minecraft version.

Gun Modifications/Parts/Accessories / Re: New CO2 rifle project

This is really great stuff!

From the pictures, your solenoid armature looks like it has a small sealing face - have you tested it up to the pressures your working at?

MarineSGT once posted about some super-duper way to triple paint the cylinder and heat it to the temperature of the sun... and then submerge it to the deepest part of the ocean, and then the paint would stay..

22
It's a target-practice only gun as it shoots too fast for games.

23
Set up a classified ad here and on other forums. Give a price that you, see what offers you get, and go from there.

Typo: "I was able to punch through light foliage to hit my targets where 6mm rounds to penetrate."

Sniper's Perch / Re: How many magazines for my sniper rifle
« on: August 14, 2011, 12:08:23 AM »
Yeah, I'm not sure what the rest of you think, but when I use my sniper, (Tanaka K98) I really do not like to shoot it too many times. I like to hit people with either the first or second shots. It just makes my feel like I am doing my job as a marksman properly.

Adding on to that - If you're not hitting your target with the first or second shot, get closer or wait til they come to you. The more plastic flies, the faster they ID your position.
