Element sets are really cheap, but sometimes the head doesn't fit well on the cylinder, or parts aren't to spec.  I'd stay away from them unless you're willing to take a risk.

I've never heard of them, but they look legit.

I believe you punch out the pins holding the front sight on.  Then it just slides off.

Gun Modifications/Parts/Accessories / Re: ps90 outer barrels?
« on: April 11, 2009, 01:28:40 PM »
Why not put a PS90 barrel on it...I personally love the look. If you like the look, just do it.

But then again, if you're playing CQB you may not want to since it may limit mobility.  If you're playing woodland, its perfect for it.

Gun Modifications/Parts/Accessories / Re: cylinder head pad?
« on: April 07, 2009, 10:15:49 PM »
If the pad detaches, it could cause the piston to become jammed, but the gears still turning, thus stripping either the piston teeth and/or gears.  If you're going to do it, take other peoples' advice and remove the original pad.

Personally, I like just putting elastics on my gun, then putting some local vegetation right before the game.  Most effective camouflage and little to no cost.

The shirt will work fine as long as you cut the strips thin enough,  That way it breaks up the outline more.

Love the gun, hate the stock of the gun.  >.<

They should make it MP5K size. The new duel wielding sensation! :D

Is that a giant Tupperware lid..?

Scare tactics. Black is intimidating.

I would spray paint a symbol onto the front for maximum "intimidation" :D

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: All things Silicone??
« on: April 07, 2009, 10:04:15 PM »
Don't you also add silicone to propane adaptors since propane doesn't have it like GG does?

Some propane adaptors have the feature of automatically mixing silicone with the propane, but if not, you need to lube your O-rings in your gas guns so that they do not dry up.  Still, you should take clean and maintenance all your guns once in a while to make sure there are no problems.

Gun Modifications/Parts/Accessories / Re: G&P M16 SPR Build
« on: April 07, 2009, 09:58:49 PM »
I may get a longer inner barrel...but I am hesitant to replace the PDI that I got in the trade.  I may get an M16 length Edgi barrel when I replace the cylinder, but I'll see how it performs first.

Another thing I would like to add is that I might need to replace the outer barrel as well...the previous owner was an idiot and dremeled part of the bottom base of the barrel (to allow front wiring?), but now it wobbles if pressure is put on it.  Would a standard, non-SPR barrel look weird?

Gun Modifications/Parts/Accessories / G&P M16 SPR Build
« on: April 07, 2009, 09:48:55 PM »
I just got my G&P M16 SPR from a recent trade, and I'm looking on some critique on my plan for it.  I'm going for a somewhat-DMR build, as I want to be able to hit accurately past 200 ft. Keep in mind I am on a slight budget so I cannot use the best of best parts for everything.

So far I have internally:
Stock G&G gearbox /w metal bushings
M150 spring
CA "Torque" motor
(gearbox needs wiring replaced and missing ARL)
-
PDI 363mm Barrel
Systema metal hop up chamber
Element H nub
Systema bucking (worn, need to replace)

I'm thinking of replacing the wiring, bucking, and motor ASAP, as they are utter garbage.
Bucking - Firefly or KWA G2
Motor - Guarder Infinite Torque or Matrix "Magnum" Motor
Wiring - Element Low resistance wiring
Systema Antireversal Latch
New 9.6V Elite Large type battery
MOSFET /w AB**
**need to learn how to solder  :-\

Next I'll be replacing the rest of the internals, starting with the piston, cylinder set, then finally the gears.
I'm thinking of Guarder bore up cylinder set, Supercore or G&P Piston, and Element Torque Gears.

Finally, I'll be getting the Ajax Shock Transfer System (STS), as I have heard great things about it and I would rather not have to replace my gearbox due to the weak V2 gearbox design. I might replace my gearbox with a G&P 8mm Reinforced Gearbox as the stock G&G is the standard 6mm and is not reinforced.

Externally, I'll be adding:
-M16 "Sniper" Grip
-Replacing full stock with a Magpul PRS Clone...if I can find one (are there any more in stock? They were in stock a few months ago at weaponblender, but I can't find them anywhere else.)
-Compact Tasco 2-6x32 Illuminated Scope
-Harris type bipod
-A box of MAG VN Short M16 midcaps

The thing with the PTW magazines are that they sense when the magazine is out of ammo and makes the gun stop shooting, one of the cool features of the PTW.  That's why they have a different design and thus are more expensive.

13
Cylinder - just needs to be chrome/polished
Cylinder head - just needs to be metal and have 2 o-rings
Air nozzle - just needs an o-ring in it
Piston head - just needs ports (heard the G&P explosive piston head is great, but breaks more easily?)
x-ring for Piston head

brand doesn't really matter in this case.  Just make sure that the cylinder is the same brand as the cylinder head for fitting compatibility.

14
V2 is the most basic gearbox.  The only annoyance is the anti reversal latch that doesn't stay in sometimes.

15
Never use white lithium on any rubber/o-rings...

Check the contents of the plumbers grease.

What does this have anything to do with airsoft...lol..

Problem Solving / Re: KWA M4 Gearbox Shell Cracked
« on: April 01, 2009, 02:34:24 PM »
It's a V2 gearbox...what can I say.  Happens to all V2 gearboxes after a while.

I suggest getting one of the Ajax ShockTransferSystems.  They help avoiding V2 front gearbox cracking.

AEG Discussion / Re: Best .25g bbs?
« on: April 01, 2009, 01:42:46 PM »
Matrix, KSC, AE, and Airsplat .25s, mainly using AE but Airsplat or matrix sometimes since they are so low priced.

I'd say that most brands are or take the same, with only a few that stand out.

AEG Discussion / Re: G&P SPR Free Floating RAS Disassembly?
« on: March 31, 2009, 05:15:58 PM »
Assuming you don't have a front sight/gas block, all you do is twist the ring on the back until the rails come off. Then use something like this to unscrew the barrel nut from the receiver:

Nevermind, thanks! I got it.

AEG Discussion / G&P SPR Free Floating RAS Disassembly?
« on: March 31, 2009, 02:30:28 PM »
I have a G&P Knights Armament SPR free floating RAS that I am trying to disassemble from the body.  Does anyone know how or give me a link? I've searched but havn't found anything.  The only thing that seems to move is the ring that i can tighten and loosen slightly.

AEG Discussion / Re: AEG Motor Water Treatment

Wasn't there a problem with rusting mentioned in a thread about water break-ins before?

I need a new bucking for my SPR, but I heard prometheus hard buckings aren't good.  I know their soft buckings are amazing, but how are their hard ones?

Btw hawk, if it can't penetrate the bottom of a soda can, its shooting less than 380 fps.  Go for a soft unless your going around 430+ fps.  If you get a hard bucking for a low FPS, it won't give it the correct amount of hop up and accuracy problems will occur.

Gun Modifications/Parts/Accessories / Re: Bore up kits universal?
« on: March 29, 2009, 06:03:30 PM »
You would have to have the correct cylinder type as well to match the barrel length.  I think that would be it.

24
what are options besides firefly and prometheus for hard buckings?

P90 and AUG are perfect for quiet guns. With my P90, you can just put the TM mock mock silencer on and it'll become extremely quiet because it is all boxed up inside of the body with no cracks for sound to escape besides the mag feed hole and barrel.
