Review & Article Discussion / Re: AEG: ICS CXP .08 Concept Rifle
« on: September 17, 2008, 08:54:07 AM »
Take the retractable stock off and leave the buffer tube and it does look like a real AR pistol. A Bushmaster Carbon 15 Type 21S Pistol.
except for the long buffer tube. if it were shorter then it would definitely be a carbon 15.

any news on an aproximate release date because i have the cash.

A local store just got his shipment in this week. The owner said it's just been released stateside.

Gun Modifications/Parts/Accessories / Re: m14 bull pup
« on: May 23, 2007, 04:02:32 PM »
I'm thinking he probably is doing it because he feels like it.  Apparently he doesn't want a Famas, a P90 or an L85, he feels like modding this M14 for fun.  God forbid someone have some fun around here.  We'll have none of that.

And I seriously doubt the "M14 Gods" care about a plastic replica, maybe an actual one, but an airsoft gun?!  Please.

Oh no no no no, there'll be none of that in here. What is this word "FUN"? We don't know this word "FUN".
From this day forth, the word "FUN" is not to be spoken.

Come to think about this. I want to see someone make a 14 into a bullpup. I still think it's blasphemy, plastic replica or not.

This is blasphemy. Why, oh why, would you want to do this to a 14?
It wouldn't be a 14 once you change it. if you like a bull pup then buy a famas, a p90 or l85.
You'll never be forgiven by the m14 gods. :D

AEG Discussion II / Re: SRC G36 AEG Magazine Questions

the 'fake bullets' are just that - fake. they're plastic for locap/midcaps and are merely stickers on the inside wall for hicaps.

Problem Solving / Re: BE G36K pgb piston stuck
« on: May 08, 2007, 03:38:35 PM »
cheap quick fix is to open up the pgb and realign the piston with the gears. they are misaligned, most likely, that's why it won't move. this happened to me.

expensive(relatively) long term fix is to dump the pgb and get a mgb - be it a TM, CA or SRC or even BE mgb. this is what i have in my xm8 (same gb as G36k) now, a TM gb

if ca's fourteen is priced the same as tm's fourteen, ca would sell quite well. i'd get another fourteen

Review & Article Discussion / Re: Gear: CIRAS Plate Carrier
« on: December 30, 2006, 06:42:21 PM »
looking through here, i realized a question was asked but never really answered. colonel pup asked "What would the point be in making different sized plates?" the answer is quite simple. everyone could just use the obiquituos medium sapi plates and insert them into medium plate carriers, or their large pcs or their small pcs, but that would be like putting a tin cup on a hole the size of a bucket, or a bucket on a pinhole. it would behoove someone with a  build of 6'6 230lbs to wear the appropriate plate to protect him/herself, not the one too small that only covers his/her stomach.

that was the long answer. the short answer is that all in the military is of the same body build/size. so small servicemembers would use the small sapi plates, most would use the medium plates, and the big fellas would use the large plates. that's the point of making different size plates. the size of the plate pocket in the small pc is for the small sapis. and the ones wearing the small pcs are the smaller body'd servicemembers. large plate -> large pocket -> large vest -> large body.

it's a nice guide for the noobers but putting clear coat on top of all that paint is gonna make it look like plastic again. leaving out the clear coat makes it look better.

sidenote: for those that suggested bowflage(?). after getting wet a while. you'll have a nice runny paint on your nice black aeg. bowflage is not practical for something your going to constantly use.

Review & Article Discussion / Re: TRC: How Airsoft Guns Work
« on: December 30, 2006, 12:52:06 PM »
a bit more on the mechanical workings of the aeg in semiauto mode. what part of the gearbox allows the gearbox to shoot just one bb at a time in s/a mode. that would finish off this review quite nicely.

sorry if this soudns stupid, but how do I lock or move topics, I'm having some trouble figuring this out, not that I need to, it's just that I would like to know.

My advice to you is not to worry about it. Just  have a moderator moderate the threads.
- RLB

a bit confusing. the self-locking/self-moving of our own threads feature is given to us users but then when someone asks how to go about doing this, we're told not to worry about it and let the mods moderate the threads. no offense to you rlb, but if you (the forum mods/admins) give us users the "power" to do these in order to help us help you (mods/admin) should we know how to do it [properly].

i, for one, feel that this is a great feature in this forum; and will help alleviate some stress and workloads off of the mods and admins. i would like to be able to do this should the need arise, but i don't know how. i don't want to start a thread just for the sake of finding out. it would be great if we are told how to do it so when the time comes we have an idea of how to go about it.
