Gun Modifications/Parts/Accessories / Re: Noveske Sound Amplifier

I have several Madbull Noise Makers (CCW 14mm) which allow you to attach a plastic bottle to the end of your gun. Cut off the body of the bottle leaving the cone attached to your gun and you have the loudest gun on the field. The bigger the bottle, the louder the cone, the bigger the cone the louder your gun will be.

Beware, though; everyone of your enemies will be able to home in on you due the unique and very loud sound. If you are going to attach it an M60, the snipers will love searching for you - especially if you're good.

I also have Noveske-type ones, and although they are nice, they don't amplify the sound nearly as much as the Madbull Noise Maker. Go for it, dude!

Gents,

For CQB applications, what is the best bb weight for high ROF (25+) / low FPS (350-) aeg setups? Also, what is the best weight for this same type of setup for field use?

My unscientific thinking is heavier for CQB (due to short ranges), and lighter for field (longer ranges).

Note: I'm aware that using light bb's (.20 / .23) in the field may not allow close groupings - especially when it's windy.

Many thanks in advance,

Gun Modifications/Parts/Accessories / Infinite Torque M4 Project
« on: February 27, 2012, 09:35:35 AM »
Here in the Dominican Republic, Airsoft is a small sport with only one hundred or so active participants. Naturally, professional airsoft gunsmiths are non-existent, but we do have a few 'practitioners'. On my team we have an electrical engineer who has helped us with various AEG and spring sniper repairs/mods/builds and he has learned a lot and done well with few mistakes resulting in broken parts.

His most recent scout/sniper project (for me) is taking a stock G&G Combat Machine M4 and installing a Guarder 150 Infinite Torque kit and Systema A to Z motor.

Once everything was assembled, we shot the first .20g bb through the Chrono and it was 500+ fps. The following shots dropped to 400's, 300's, 200's, and then we looked at each other in bewilderment. We opened the gearbox and... drum roll... half the piston's teeth were gone... (we had filed off the second tooth before installation as so many 'experts' recommend)

We pulled out a bother brand new Guarder half-teeth piston (same one that comes with the kit) and changed the motor back to the stock one. The result isn't much better...

Thought process: all the upgrade parts are top-notch, the piston and the gear that works it are making good contact... so is it the G&G gearbox that is causing this?

Any advice and verbal abuse is welcome...

Many thanks

Sorry, Fish - ain't gonna happen - lighter spring on the way to 'humanize' the FPS to more playable speeds...

I'm not building a "target" airsoft gun, but rather playable one that allows me to hit what I can see while doing it with a responsible bb speed.

700+ is impressive, and fun to achieve, but not practical when playing with other humans...

All the best,

me

Update: 720 FPS with .20g... but, not for long...

That PDI bore up kit and long inner barrel is really worth the money IMO!

Thanks for the input, Gents!

I just ordered a PDI SS2000 spring and will update this with the new stats once it arrives and I install it.

670fps might have it's applications somewhere in the Airsoft world, but not in mine...

Gents,

I've just finished a VSR-10 Bore-Up assembly project with PDI V-Trigger and PDI SS4000 spring and the trigger is really stiff (670 FPS with .25). Is this stiffness normal for a V-Trigger with a hard spring like this?

I've also a done a normal VSR-10 short barreled version with a 150 spring and the trigger is really light.

Many thanks...
