Tactical, no. Military, no. Damn good fun, yes. These games were fun to play, hard to master. Saddly, all the developers and the original writer for the first two games have not returned to make the third installment. According to the July 2009 issue of Game Informer, James McCaffrey (original Max Payne voice actor) will not be cast to voice Max Payne for Max Payne 3.

It seems that Rockstar isn't bringing anyone back from the previous games, except Max who looks like he's seen better days. Now in his mid-40's, it seems that they dressed him up like Bruce Willis from Die Hard 4.

We'll see if it's any good.

Maruzen has re-released the PPK/s with a new metal finish. While still ABS plastic, it has a very nice metal finish that resembles the bluing on a real gun
