Complaint Department / Banned? I Don't Think So
« on: February 17, 2008, 02:55:17 AM »
Ok, here's the deal. I haven't been on this forum for a very long time due to being "banned". It told me that I was purposely trying to start an argument with a mod...or something like this. As far as I know, I've never done such a thing.

Basically, can a mod tell me if I really did do something, or if it was just a mix-up. Either way, I'm happy to be back.

Clothing/Gear / Splitting Apart Mag Pouches
« on: May 13, 2007, 04:37:29 PM »
When I bought my vest, it came with a triple mag pouch (three pouches all attatched in one) and a double (two pouches attatched in one) and I was wondering if I could split the double into two singles. I do not have enough magazines to fill every pouch, and I have a utility pouch I want to attatch, but cannot. So, basically, I have half of a double pouch being used and the other just taking up space.

So, I want to know if I can split them apart and then burn the cut edge closed (similar to sealing paracord.)

Thanks

Something that has always bothered me about my M4 is that the "bolt" that hides the hop up doesn't slide back very far. I was wondering if there was anyway to make it slide a bit further.

I made a very rough drawing of what I want to do, but I don't know how to go about it.
The black arrows are where the charging handle currently starts and stops, and the black text is how far it travels before beginning to pull the "bolt". The red arrow is where I plan to make the bolt stop and the red text is how far the C.H. will have to travel if this works.

Any help is appreciated.

AEG Discussion / Help Installing Metal Upper Reciever
« on: February 21, 2007, 11:57:14 PM »
Ok, I'm really sorry for posting this, but it is a last result. I did search but didn't find anything related.

I need help installing my Zeke metal body on my TM M4A1 New Type, specifically, the upper reciever. I accidentally figured out how to take off my stock, so I'm set with the lower, all I need is upper.

Thanks.

AEG Discussion / M4 Front End Conversion: G&P or TM?
« on: February 11, 2007, 12:31:45 AM »
Hello everyone,

I am going to transform my M16 into an M4, and I want to know whether I should go with the G&P kit, or a series of parts made by TM.

I will either buy:

G&P M4 Front End conversion
$185 shipped from WGCShop.com

                    or

Outer Barrel
Outer Barrel Base
Inner Barrel
Front Sight with Sling Swivel
RIS
Delta Ring
~$155-$160 shipped from http://stores.ebay.com/Marui-Parts-Showcase_Parts-M4_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ7728598QQftidZ2QQtZkm
(I have dealt with this guy before and he is very professional, reliability is no issue)

Now, I'm sure that G&P makes higher quality parts, but the fact that I can get the same thing plus an inner barrel for about $20 less is attractive. Then again, the G&P kit is already assembled, though it shouldn't be that hard.

What do you guys think I should do?

Gas Discussion / KSC Steyr TMP? Good? Bad?
« on: January 30, 2007, 12:27:56 AM »
Hey I have been playing Rainbow Six: Vegas and I've pretty much fallen in love with the MP9. I searched around a bit, and it looked like the KSC TMP is the closest I'm getting. So, I'd like to know what you guys know when it comes to this gun. I searched but really didn't get much (and I couldn't ask because they were all old topics).

Does this gun have a stock?

Classic Airsoft Guns / Considering Getting Into Classics--Few Questions
« on: January 13, 2007, 01:28:57 AM »
Hi, I own an AEG but I don't like the lack of recoil and the annoying sound. So, I am considering getting into classics. The cost used to be out of my range, but I have a job opportunity that should pull through for me and it will provide me with a decent amount of money. I was just wondering if you guys could help me with some things:

1. How much maintenance do classics need to run smoothly?
2. Are classics made in the form of an M4?
3. What company makes a gun thats good for a beginner? (I'm not made of money)
4. Air rigs...I have "Idiot" written on my forehead when it comes to this so any help is greatly appreciated.
5. Are classics compatible with aftermarket accessories on the market right now?

That's all I have at the moment, but if you have any tid bits of info that can help me out, PLEASE speak up. Much appreciated!

AEG Discussion / Will This Transform My M16 Into a M4
« on: December 28, 2006, 11:10:44 PM »
Hello, I have an M16 and I have sort of been kicking myself since buying it for not opting to go for the M4 instead. So, I was wondering if this (link at bottom) will tranform my M16 into a M4. It is the same price as the M5 RAS which I was considering buying. I'm not 100% sure I want to do this just yet, but I just need to know if it will work.

Thanks

Clothing/Gear / What Type of Vests Do Rangers Wear?
« on: December 17, 2006, 11:21:47 PM »
This question is more out of curiosity than for future purchases...although it could be a future purchase...

I was looking through some pictures from USASOC's* website of Rangers, and I saw a handful of Interceptors, which is to be expected, to what looked like FSBE's. However, since none of the pictures showed ACU, they are somewhat old.

So, I was wondering if anyone could set my record straight...what type of vests do Rangers wear?

Thanks,
Gunslinger

Clothing/Gear / RAV vs. CIRAS: Pros & Cons of Each.
« on: December 11, 2006, 12:42:29 AM »
Hi, I am looking into purchasing either a Phantom CIRAS or a Phantom RAV, and I was wondering what the pros and cons of each are.

I know both vests are probably quite bulky and heavy. However, I read that the CIRAS has a lower profile than the RAV, is that true?

I searched but couldn't find anything directly related to this subject.

EDIT: If you have any other suggestions for vests, I'm all ears.

AEG Discussion / Advantage of Metal Hop Up Over Plastic
« on: November 21, 2006, 04:25:56 PM »
Hello, I have an SRC M16A4 that I upgraded with the Guarder FTK. I was thinking about getting a new bucking for it, but I decided that I may as well replace the entire chamber. I have found a Guarder hop up chamber on eHobbyAsia for cheap, but it is plastic. My question is, what are the advantages of having a metal hop up chamber over a plastic one. Also, what company would you reccommend I buy from?

Thanks

AEG Discussion II / UTG MP5 + G&P Lighted Foregrip...Compatible?
« on: November 13, 2006, 12:37:05 AM »
Hey, I recently I decided that I wanted an UTG MP5 for when my M16 is just too long, and to mess around with and whatnot. Well, to me at least, MP5's and lighted foregrips go hand in hand. So I was just wondering if the UTG is compatible with a G&P lighted foregrip.

Thanks

I don't know exactly how new this is, but I just saw it on RedWolf's site, and since I'm making an M16A4, it came at the perfect time.

Any comments? Is it realistic? Too phony? Better than CA's? Worse?

Clothing/Gear / In Need Of A Crye Chassis Replica
« on: September 15, 2006, 09:24:06 PM »
Hey I recently have decided I wanted a loadout that no one else has. I was thinking about it when I was browsing the thread about the SCAR. Still drawing a blank, I began to play GRAW. Well, GRAW + SCAR gave me my idea. I have found every part of the loadout minus the helmet and, obviously the vest. So, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for the Chassis. Crye has it on their site, but it says "call for quote". I don't think a company supplying PMC's and the Army (eventually) wants to get a call from a little airsofter (nor do I want ballistic capabilities) so I decided to find a decent replica.

I have been looking for the past week and haven't found much. I have decided to tap into the ASR community to find this.

My budget is basically $150ish or less (unshipped) and if at all possible, it would be a plus if its multicam.

Thanks.

EDIT: If you could help me find drop leg platforms too that would be cool
DOUBLE EDIT: decent pic of what it looks like

Retail Stores / Anyone Ever Ordered From E-Hornet Airsoft?
« on: September 03, 2006, 08:33:37 PM »

They mainly carry G&P gear and they have cheap prices. The are overseas so shipping is somewhat steep, but still. The look legit.

Any input?

AEG Discussion II / What Sized Bushings Are SRC?
« on: August 19, 2006, 03:27:52 PM »
Hey I bought a Guarder FTK and I was installing it last night. Well, when I came to the bushings, they didn't seem to fit. The kit came with (or at least claimed to come with) 6mm bushings. But the fit was VERY tight and I couldn't even get them all the way in. Are my bushings not 6mm, or does SRC use some weird size like Well does.

AEG Discussion II / Why Don't AEG's Feed Those Last Few BB's?
« on: August 08, 2006, 11:21:05 PM »
My question to you is, why don't AEG's feed those last few BB's in a mag? I have heard it has something to do with the fact that there are no more BB's pushing against them. If this is true, would my idea (stated below) work?

My idea:
If what I have heard about BB's not feeding is correct, would it be possible to remedy this by cuttin off a little chunk of the magazine's spring and replacing it wiht a BB? This BB should keep the necessary force on those last pesky 2 or 3 BB's to prvent them from not feeding.

So?

Clothing/Gear / Guarder IBA? Good Quality?
« on: August 01, 2006, 11:59:58 PM »
I want to make a US Army loadout. No, I do not want to be special forces, nor Delta, nor Ranger....well maybe Ranger. But I want to look like a grunt. So, I have heard that US Army wears Interceptor vests and I found the Guarder IBA. My question is, is it a decent vest? I know it doesn't have much MOLLE real estate, but does it have enough to get the job done?

Also, what color IBA would the Army wear over woodland? Still woodland? Or OD? Something else?

I know that the Army is using ACU, but I absolutely hate the stuff and it has no place in my enviornment, so don't even begin to mention it.

EDIT: Shortdog, it'd be pretty tight if you could read this...seeing as you are a soldier you could suggest something better/pouch positioning/realism

Gas Discussion / What Is This Gas? Can I Use It?
« on: July 30, 2006, 02:26:26 PM »
I was wandering around my local walmart, and a can of gas in the automobile department grabbed my eye. Normally, I would have walked right by, but this time, I saw 134a written in big red letters.

So, can I use this in a gas gun?...if I ever get one...

Clothing/Gear / What do you think of these vests?
« on: July 26, 2006, 10:52:30 PM »
I was searching around on ebay for CIRAS gear because it's top notch (right?) and ebay is usually a source of good deals. So, I found some CIRAS stuff and, from the same seller, some other vests that look promising. However, these prices kind of scare me (low prices...but high shipping).

I looked at the feedback for this seller and it is 94.6% positive.

EDIT: those are not necessarily the colors I'd get...most likely OD

Clothing/Gear / Why is Multicam So Expensive?
« on: July 25, 2006, 01:05:34 PM »
Why is muticam so expensive? I know it blends well, but still...for pants, jacket, and a vest its over $200.

Now, for you rich people who have a way to make money, that may not be much. But to a 14 year old who has no reliable way to make money who to pass every purchase by a parental unit (like myself) thats a decent penny.

AEG Discussion II / Can I Buy A New Flat Top Reciver Rail?
« on: July 24, 2006, 12:38:18 AM »
Hey I need a new flat top reciever rail (little rail your detachable carry handle goes on) and I was wondering if any stores have 'em. Also, does anyone carry the piece the flat top's screw screws into? I don't know if it is part of an outter barrel set and if it is, then that would help me kill two birds with one stone. New screw piece thingy and a new outter barrel.
