Sniper's Perch / Any Reviews/Upgrade Suggestions for L96?
« on: November 04, 2009, 03:54:41 PM »
I've decided to go with an L96, due to the fact that they have great fps stock, and the price. I was originally going to get a VSR-10, but I'm not anymore because of the cost (Kinda low on money right now). But anyway, does anybody know anything about this gun? Yes, I've done my homework, but I am always going to check with you guys first. I've read two detailed reviews on the UTG L96 (I have the links to them if you all want to see them for yourself). This isn't a "which gun" thread either, by the way.  :P

Link to Gun- http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_48&products_id=30209

Ive also searched up L96 upgrades (internal) and didn't get much, so I'm asking you guys now. I want to focus on accuracy upgrades, not fps.

Thanks.

Sniper's Perch / Aluminum Sniper Rifle BBs?
« on: October 10, 2009, 03:01:03 PM »
What the heck are these?
http://www.airsoftmegastore.com/0_32G_HFC_Ultra_Seamless_ALUMINUM_BBs_p/bb-alum-1bot.htm

First time seeing them. Only one review so far, but that's not good enough. Has anyone ever used these before? Do they even work?

Tactics / The Ultimate Ambush Tactic. Well It's More Like A Lure.
« on: October 09, 2009, 10:57:33 PM »
We had another airsoft war today, and although there was no 7' rubber tube, we did do something that suprisingly worked against a 2 man team. Here's what we did...

It was 2v2 in my friend Alec's airsoft feild. I had my sniper, an mp5k and an electric pistol i just bought. My team mate Tim had a shotty. Since it was in the woods, we decided to slowly flank the enemy. About 15 min later, they came into sight. The problem was, there was so much brush and stuff we couldn't get a clear shot without them shooting us. So we went to this convenietly placed fort (just a 6' diameter ditch about 6 inches deep, with sandbags and logs covering 2 sides) and tried to form up a plan. Then i had a brain blast. You see, for some reason i always carry fishing line with me. That stuff is friekin' useful i tell you. Trip wire, fishing, anything. Anyway, we decided to prop up my electric pistol so it wouldn't fall or anything. Then we wrapped the fishing line around the trigger, and retreated about 20 ft. back. When we tugged, the pistol shot towards a tree that was vaguely close enough to the opposition. At first, they just automatically went prone and stayed there for about 3 min. After some whispering, some rustling of feet, and more whispering, we knew our lure had worked. 10 minutes later, they jumped out and ambushed my pistol, then we ambushed them.

That's my new tactic of the day folks, I would love to hear that somebody else would try this themselves and see how it works for them.

Tactics / Ultimate Window Breaching Technique!
« on: October 08, 2009, 09:10:10 PM »
Hey guys, it's been a while since I last posted here. But anyway, I just had an airsoft war at a friends place, which has a makeshift house/fort that has 4 windows, a door, and a secret tunnel exit (used his backhoe to dig that, then we reinforced it. It's actually very nice). The objective was me and 5 other people had to capture and hold the house/fort, which was defended by about 10 people. So me and the team decided to sneak up behind and get them to poke themselves out to the windows, then we'd pop 'em. That proved  successful for a while: we got 2 people out. But then, they had a brain blast and started blind firing (did i mention that they were completely stocked up on ammo? every person has at least 7,000 BBs with them). So we had to pull back and figure out a new plan. On our way back, I found a long rubber tube, with about a 1 inch diameter tube, and was about 7 feet long. So this is what we did: 4 of our team came up from the front, distracting them as much as possible (I was told they even took branches and stuff and threw them at the fort, which really got their attention), while me and my friend Tim snuck around the back with the tube. When we finally got to the wall, we shoved the barrel of his borrowed M16 in the front of the tube, then snaked the end of the tube through a window. Then we fired.

It turned out to be a complete success. We killed 5 (yes, 5) of them, and while the enemies came around to get us, the rest of my team advanced and we wiped them out.

I'm not sure if this can help anyone else, because it's pretty unlikely that you'll find a tube in the woods like we did. But then again, maybe it'll inspire some others to "tube breach" as well.

Also, before you guys start saying stuff like "well bla bla bla is a so much better way to breach 'cause bla bla bla..." you see I don't care, I'm just posting this up because this is a tactic me and a couple of friends used to win.

Not bad for my first post in a couple of months, eh?

before i start, sorry if this has already been discused, although i'm pretty sure it hasn't .
i saw this one post before where this once guy (sorry but i don't remember any names) and the person posted up a patch of some division/unit (really i forget :P) and some people got really defensive about him having the patch because they thought it was disrespectful and all that. so i figured of something you can do so you can wear the patch and show support and not get roasted.
wear the patch, but underneath it have either a seperate patch or something that says "supporter"
for example, say you have a navy seals patch but your not a navy seal. have the little supporter patch (or just write it in marker if you can) and people won't get angry.

Sniper's Perch / Left Handed VSR-10/BAR-10?
« on: July 12, 2009, 04:45:59 PM »
if you havn't figured out already, i am *sniff* a lefty *sniff*
i've been searching around for a left handed VSR-10/BAR-10 and sadly have gotten nothing.
makers of airsoft guns, why do you deprive us lefty's the oppurtunity of left-handed snipers?
as i crawl into a dark corner and weep, is there anything i can do to change a regular BAR-10 into a left-handed BAR-10 without heavy mod?
now i know some people will just say "get over it" but you righties don't understand what it's like.
i can't believe i'm posting this because they should already have left-handed rifles.

Clothing/Gear / New way to show you are dead?
« on: July 12, 2009, 10:46:17 AM »
ever been "killed" during airsoft, and on your way back to the respawn point been unloaded on by someone who didn't know you were out? well i just hatched a new idea to stop this. i was searching around through my dad's old hunting stuff and came upon this one "vest" type apparal. it was OD (olive drab if ya don't know) but on the inside (ever had one of them jackets wear you could turn them inside out if it rained or something?) was a bright yellow. this could be perfect for airsoft because once you "died" you could just turn it inside out and people would know you had died.
i hav'nt asked my dad where he got this yet because he's in baghdad at the moment.
i'll have pictures up as soon as i can.

EDIT: just found a link to a vest that is reversible
http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2870287&cp=2367438.2367824.2292572.2292648#1
it's not real close to what i'm talking about but it's got a camo on one side and a way to show that your dead on the other.
Here's another link that's better than the first. i'm keeping the first up in case anyone wants to buy it  ;)

Sniper's Perch / Sniping: A Hidden Masterpiece
« on: June 27, 2009, 01:13:03 PM »
hey guys. I started this topic so people can show off and tell everyone they're "l33t $n1p1ng" shots  :)
sadly, i have none that are "l33t" (yet). So post your stories about how you somehow shot 2 people (i swear to god that's happened before from my friends lol he hit someone and it bounced off him and hit someone else XD) or how you were the only one left against a whole team and beat them...whatever. just try not to brag too much for jealousy can turn bad

Was my subject title too broad?

this isn't here to help me with ideas (i already have something like this) but as an opioninater type of poll for other people. this is for any type of scenario: if you will leave a reply saying what you voted and what type of place you play in: woodland, desert, winter, urban, etc.

I myself have a rifle rag and play in a woodland (actually more like a leafy green) it's a real simple one just made out of cut-up BDU's my dad used to wear in the Marine's (he's not in the Marine's anymore he's National Guard  :o)
okay well please reply to this thanks guys
ONCE AGAIN TO THE MODS THIS ISN'T ONE OF THOSE "WHICH GUN" TYPE OF THINGS

ALSO
and to all those people who don't know there is a difference between rifle rags & wraps. to see a rifle wrap watch the movie Enemy At the Gates. It's a fabulous movie but anyway the main sniper for the russians ( i forget his name i think it's Vasilly?) but look at his rifle in some parts he has that cloth thing around it (you can't miss it there's a close up of it) and for rifle rags...uhh i think in COD4 you have one in the two sniper missions. but if you can't do those two things i guess Google it you might see some results

EDIT: Hey if you vote post and tell what & why you voted + what type of area you play in please
