AEG Discussion / Re: G&G M14 Project, thoughts/suggestions
« on: November 01, 2008, 10:46:17 PM »
It's a modified v.7--not at all the same design as the TM externally, but the internals are pretty similar.

not at all.
the g&g gear box is longer because it houses the feeding tube and the hop up when installed, it is thicker toward the muzzle, and i think the tm is the taller gearbox.
the tm can only use the v.7 parts for gears and such. the g&g uses a variety of v.2/3 parts including the gears, cylinder, spring guide, and all the piston stuff.

Skirmish Reports / Re: Stealthy Exploits

just a few hours ago i was playing airsoft. we had been playing about 5 hours up until this point now so we were pretty tired. we all voted on a v.i.p game and i was on defense. we had to stop the vip from going around a trail on the property we play on. it was 4v4 and me and 1 other guy had split away from the trail. we both had insanely good ambush positions covering our front. we sat there, and sat there, and sat there for probably 30 minutes just lying down in the forest. little did we know our enemy was flanking from behind which had minimal cover for me and pretty good cover for him. as i spot them i try to alert him without giving away our positions. they chose a very organized thought out plan for entering the woods part we were in. they come in with a v formation without the vip and scout the area. they stop about ten feet to the left of me looking around my area without spotting me, then one of my friends on the other team spots my teammate sporting his mossy oak which stood out a little. as they unload on him, i sweep my m14 around from the position facing the opposite way the enemy was and SATURATE the enemy area with bb's taking out all three of them. turns out, since i was wearing my woodland camo against ivy, dirt, and leaves they couldn't even see me if they looked at me until i had already raked them with fire. then i formed a militia with my friend and killed everyone...

according to TCF it uses v7
7mm bushings not v.7 gearbox. it doesn't have the same shape or anything in common. g&g made their own gearbox instead of copying it from marui. the generation1-generation 3 were crap but g&g took it back to the drawing board and now you have the generation 4 which kicks butt.

the g&g m14 uses a variety of v.2/3 parts as well as their own. i'm almost positive it will not use v.7 because the gearbox is totally different.

the full sized g&g m14 is sturdy as a brick. its a little bit on the heavy side but it just fells right to me. if your a small guy like i am(5'9 140lbs) carrying it around all day will get tiring. all the internals are good to go stock(390 fps) and has great range. i would suggest it but if your an ak fan then go with what you like.

it's an allen wrench screw. i got mine off by wiggling it around and getting it semi loose then pushing it out with a screwdriver. it should work unless someone screwed it on really tight. hope this helps

the marui has a thinner stock so i think the r.i.s would hang over and wobble alot.

i'm almost possitive that it is not compatible without some heavy modifications. the g&g and tm are pretty much completely different in body style, barrel, reciever, and other things required to fit the handguard on properly. i would suggest getting the rail made by g&g, yes, it doesn't rap all the way around the body but it's a pound or to less weight which will come in handy when it's a long airsoftin' day.

i'm almost positive it can only take the rail made by g&g. i have one and it's really nice.

I was talking to TCF through PM and he told me that the G&G m14(regular version) can shoot 200fteasy and 250ft max
actually it's better than that if you have the hop up dialed in.

you could just get the g&g and be over with it exept for hop up and a tbb. stock fps is 385-400 and the gearbox is like a well oiled machine....oh wait it is but it still is a BEAST.
