Complaint Department / Re: Using the Rep system....
« on: February 26, 2006, 04:26:14 PM »
I think more people need to start using the reputation system instead of just some using it to smite people they don't like.  Almost every thread I open I try to smite or applaud at least one person just to start getting those numbers to where they should be.  Of course,  if theres no horrible post or great post I won't do anything because it would just ruin the system,  but I think that everyone who can, should use the buttons fairly often.

It's pretty easy.  I used to do it by hand every once in a while.

Retail Stores / Re: Help need wholesale info
« on: February 25, 2006, 02:42:15 PM »
Your best bet is to ship from HK,  redwolfairsoft.com will sell wholesale.  If it has to be in the US you may be able to email local retailers and ask them about their supplier or ask if they do any wholesale program.  I'm 90% sure it would be cheaper to use something in HK though so that you don't have to pay more middle men.

Gas Discussion / Re: Using the Mad Bull adaptor to run CO2 in a GBB?
« on: February 25, 2006, 02:38:54 PM »
You can't use CO2 in a standard GBB.  The magazines are not meant to take 900PSI,  and if you do regulate it down,  it won't be in liquid form and you will only get several shots with each following firing at a much lower velocity.  Basically,  you'd have to regulate it down so far that it would act just like air which has been covered many times.

However,  if you plan to make it so that the co2 rig stays attached to the gun, then it might work.

AEG Discussion II / Re: Where can i get a Well G3 SAS Electric Airsoft AEG

Did he ship it via USPS?  If he did you can threaten to file mail fraud, usually helps with situations like this.

Classic Airsoft Guns / Re: Sun Project M40, a classic?

Yes,  you would need a regulator and some tubing and fittings to hook it all up though.

Technically thats all you need to run it,  but it works so much better if you use a real regulator and a full tank.  I wouldn't even bother with one of those dinky things.  That rig does not use refillable co2 tanks,  you would have to buy those little capsules every time you want to play.  For a normal co2 tank you can fill it up at a paintball store.

Gas Discussion / Re: such thing as AEG mag compatible non-classic?
« on: February 22, 2006, 06:18:40 PM »
You could get a large CO2 tank (20 or 40lb) and fill that once every couple of months,  then use that to fill the smaller paintball tanks.  Also,  I'm fairly sure theres a paintball store within a couple of miles,  just search yahoo local.

Gas Discussion / Re: Full-Size Gas rifles SMG's?
« on: February 22, 2006, 06:16:58 PM »
Sun Project guns are full metal along with the internals.

As for that JAC Limited,  that is a VERY nice gun,  along with a good seller.  Darrylzero who occasionally ventures onto these forums is a very reliable seller and is very helpful after the sale.  JAC guns tend to be lower quality,  it's basically like a TM,  generally have plastic bodies and the basics.  The Limited version is full metal (GREAT metal body, not potmetal like modern AEG metal bodies) and that ones upgraded so it should shoot great.

Misc. Weapons / Re: any info on these grenades?
« on: February 22, 2006, 06:09:20 PM »
Well generally if you need to toss a grenade,  it won't be in your direct line of fire so it won't be able to hit you.  If it landed straight up,  BBs would fire into the air and then fall down and the blast radius rule would still be in effect.

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: Madbull CO2 Gearbox
« on: February 22, 2006, 03:38:27 PM »
This is going to be horrible.  The recoil is next to zero,  calling it blowback is a joke.  It doesn't shoot full auto at all last I heard,  and have fun changing CO2 cylinders every couple of minutes.

The only reason I can imagine to have this would be to create a sniper or sniper style weapon.  It would be great for an sr-25 or sr-15.

With HPA cooldown won't even matter,  and unless you can see your breath the cooldown with CO2 will be negligable.  As for looking for people who love the performance of their guns... once again,  classicairsoft.net.  Hundreds of members who love their Classics and would never even consider using an AEG again.

Gas Discussion / Re: Full-Size Gas rifles SMG's?

The Armotech is made by a paintball company,  some believe them to be converted.  But imagine this,  the SP has recoil as it is truly a GBB.  The armotech is probably a NBB because of it's paintball roots.  The SP uses paintball tanks for power as well.

Gas Discussion / Re: Full-Size Gas rifles SMG's?
« on: February 22, 2006, 03:15:36 AM »
There are many other good recent gas rifles but the Maruzen MP5K uses a horrible blowback system, the MK1 has a large barrel ID, and the KJW is basically a cheaper version of the Tanaka M700.

I would definatly recomend the SP over the JAC because if you don't understand the BV system the gun could be a hit or miss.  There could be a bit of tinkering to get it firing right and figuring out what PSI it runs best at.  The SP is much easier to start quickly.

The Armotech,  it's made by a paintball company, probably uses the same gas system that a paintball system would but smaller,  try getting parts for that.  I wouldn't trust it just because the company is so small in the airsoft world.

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: engraving on your expensive metal aeg
« on: February 21, 2006, 10:09:41 PM »
That gives me an idea.  If it's cheap enough to laser engrave,  I might pick up a set of extra slides for my G18Cs.  You can get the stock KWA ones (I believe thats what they are) on poweredge for like 10 bucks each or something like that.

AEG Discussion II / Re: *AEG Inner Barrel Lengths*
« on: February 21, 2006, 10:00:04 PM »
Very useful.  You can also get them out of the packaging for inner barrels if you buy new,  but usually by then you already know how long the barrel is.

AEG Discussion II / Re: Wiring Problems
« on: February 21, 2006, 09:34:35 PM »
I would try resoldering everything,  I had this problem in one of my old guns and it ended up that when the wires were out and in a loose form,  the contacts all worked just fine.  Once I closed it all up one of the wires would pull out of the contact so it would stop working.  I had to recrimp the contact and I added a bit of solder to make sure it worked and that solved the problem.

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: Your Gun: Upgraded or Not
« on: February 21, 2006, 09:30:46 PM »
My gun has custom steel internals machined/milled/lathed out for it.  I usually don't run it to its full potential though,  only to around 350FPS which it could achieve in it's stock form.

Gas Discussion / Re: such thing as AEG mag compatible non-classic?
« on: February 21, 2006, 08:27:03 PM »
You could,  but it wouldn't be worth it.  There is such thing as a green gas rig,  which is basically rigging up propane to the gun and let me tell you,  it does not work well.  Not only do you have a very small range of pressures to work with,  but if you fire too much your pressure will decrease because of cool down.  HPA is basically what paintballers reffer to as Nitro,  HPA stands for high pressure air,  and air is largely nitrogen.  CO2 isn't too bad,  it's about 4 bucks a tank and depending on your gun the tank can last thousands of rounds.

Nice review.  You may want to put in the title that it's the spring version though,  I used to own two gas Maruzen Mini AUGs and I was expecting to read about that.  Does it use the same clamshell design as the gas version?  ALso,  how well contained are the internals?

I might be able to help you out on your rig a bit.  For an m870 you can probably run the KWC power booster or something if you want to though.  The most important thing (for me) in making a rig and understanding what parts you need is to visualize it.  You may want to sketch a rough diagram of the rig then fill in what parts go where.

I wish I had my rig in front of me so I could help you out more,  but it's about 1000 miles away... so yeah.  If you want you can catch me on AIM and I may be able to help a bit more.

Yes, there were many different colt variants made,  most of which include or can be converted to an m4.  Asahi, MGC, Sun Project, Kokusai, Sherriff, Toyjack, Marushin, LS, plumproject,  basically EVERYONE and their mother made an m4 or colt variant.

That and the hose is what keeps most people from buying classics.  Luckily,  once people turn to classics,  they tend to keep with them so we don't lack in numbers too much!

http://www.classicairsoft.net/Articles/regulator/index.htm

Theres a guide on how to make your own rig.  Including a paintball tank it usually runs around 130-150USD.

After that all you need are mags and BBs!

Tactics / Re: Maps: Tactically valuable or not?
« on: February 21, 2006, 05:59:42 PM »
Maps can be a very effective tool on the field for a leader or commander.  Being able to easily explain where different places are and what you're talking about simply by pointing can definatly speed up reaction times and lead to an overall victory.
