So I've been talking to a few of my friends and their parents about this, and we all agree: While limited food sounds awesome, its just not very practical. So, we decided that limited ammo would be much easier to pull off and less hazardous to our health. Below is the new plan, and its similar to the old one, just reworded.
The game will last somewhere from 2-4 days (depending on our schedules), and will take place in the summer, on a dry week. We will be playing on about 40-60 acres of land (My cousin’s place, hopefully). Everyone will arrive at the field around 4-5 pm.
What Players Need:
All personal airsoft equipment (except bbs), sleeping bag, tarp, bug spray, water bottle, and food for themselves.
Have the players split up into 2 teams (more if you have more people). The teams will then go into different parts of the woods and set up camp. Instead of tents, we will use tarps that can get shot. There is no fighting the first night. Instead, the teams will have that time to camouflage their campsite, find defensive positions, etc. Fighting starts as early as 5:30 the next morning, and goes on until the end of the game. Respawns would be somewhere near the campsite during the day, and at night, the players would simply have to act dead until one side wins or leaves (so as to not get lost in the woods!).
Because of the many problems with limited food, we decided that there should be limited ammo instead. Each team would be given about 2000-5000 rounds of .2, and about 200 rounds of .28 or .3 (amount depends on # of players), and could win more bbs by completing objectives, such as holding a certain area for an hour, or killing an enemy VIP. This would force the teams to conserve ammo and choose targets wisely. Also, they can raid the other team’s campsite for their excess ammo. If a player gets shot while carrying ammo, he has to drop all of it, except for what’s in his magazines. There is also no way to charge batteries, so they would again have to pick their shots wisely and bring a backup just in case.
We were also thinking that a small number of people (2?) should be mercenaries. These people would be like the other two teams; they would get an initial supply of bbs, have a camp, etc. This team would most likely be snipers and could be “hired” with supplies, a promised share of the loot, or some other thing. In return, they would fight for that team for the agreed amount of time.
This is the basic plan, but we still need to work a few things out. This is where YOU come in! Please provide feedback about whatever you think would be cool, flaws in the plan, or things that would make it better! Anything helps!
And thanks for all of the feedback so far!
