Hmm, blue illumination, seems a bit odd, maybe something so out of the ordinary that it works phenomenally. Its a nice compact scope that would most likely look great on an M-Rifle. I may just pick this up when I purchase my CA M15A4 Carbine.

I can guess what is next, some other company will catch onto the blue and make a 4 color reticle scope. Black, Red, Green, and Blue. All in one...

slap that on a gas M14 and hook me up with a harris bipod and i will be the prettiest airsofter that had ever whooped your tail(for those of you who have seen me and my custom shotgun pic probably have to buy a new keyboard cause the coke on their current is sparking all over the place).

woot woot!

2
hell, i would blow $50 just for that reticle.

adjustable magnification is usually no bother to use..  the thing just sits at the magnification you want till you want to change it.

tasco makes decent crap as well..  i have a couple of ther scopes around here somewhere.

3
RedWolf has em for $36 but alas, out of stock.

i only know a couple other places that sell airsoft stuff and none have things that look like this thing..

anyone have another well-stocked airsoft retailer on thier bookmarks or know offhand?

4
only problem i have with spray paint is that smell..  that craptastic krylon spraypaint smell puts my head straight into insta-headache mode.

what brands of paint do you suggest for using?  i havent used that flat-camo stuff for a while(too expensive where i live) and im thinking of air brushing permanent ink onto cloth when i get these stencils set out.

full face mask for me.  works better for radio usage.  i have the mic wired to the mask directly so it dosnt rattle around in there.

yes

Sun Project M16. Good, a bit more modernly made, takes TM mags
http://www.scaar.at/videos/SPM16aatv.avi

KWC m16, not popular, old, supposed to be ok. Used to be a review on ASR v2

Asahi M16. I'm pretty sure Asahi made one, and it's supposed to be good.

Jac m16. Heard the annoying mags suffered from problems.

kokusai m16- I dunno

And a wee bit more displayed on this page http://www.classicairsoft.net/history.htm
Hit control "f" and type m16...

Poke around the classicairsoft forum for better information

is the suggestion to cut a M16 down to make a M4?  (not sarcasm btw, honest question)  it wouldnt be a problem either way.  I dig the M16 as well.  AMERICAN MADE BABY!!

was gonna go with D at first out of general principle, but after seeing the pix load the term "yew lucky bastid!!" came to mind.

nice job Llama

i have been searching for anyone who makes a gas M4 besides the occational JAC on ebay etc..  im hoping i wont have to resort to butchering one of my little gas SMGs like my TMP for the bolt and build one from scratch.

i have tried AEGs(didnt like em) shotties(both spring and gas, like the gas better) pistols(TM MK23 nbb, awesome gun.  nuff said) and my big honkin M700 AICS sniper rifle..  great gun, but not really a CQB weapon..

and i love the look of the M4, but with my record AEG's=the devil(they just dont like me much) so im looking for a gas one.  anything M4ish with a removable carrying handle, or upgradeable for a full RIS system.

thx folks.  -Mad

effing +1 for you man!!  you probably saved me a butt-load of time when I MarPat my truck(yea, you heard me..  the whole truck).

vote for sticky!

if your playing in near desert(not just sand, but rocks, scrub, etc) you could probably get away with just some camo netting, not a full on ghillie, but just somthing to drape over yourself to break up your outline.  you would probably look like a rock or somthing.

12
we have that Airsoft Hawaii group, but they have all kinds of restrictions and stuff..  i think 400 fps is the max that they will allow(but i found out my AICS has an internal regulator on it that i can choose what FPS i want..  woot!) and they host that big ASH BASH contest every year..  i might sign up for that one next time it comes around.

and as for the burlap, i started by tying a strip to the barrel, then wraping it around, looping it over areas like the scope and butt, and just adding more and more to the original strip.  if i took apart the main knots, it would be one long strip of camo burlap.

13
yes, it is--but that's not what he is getting at here.

"riches" in this case would be his sweet rifle... rags... are literally the burlap rags. get it?
giggitty.

thats cool, what part of hawaii are you from? im from hawaii too
north shore.  you got a team you play with?  last place i played was St. Louis Heights till the cops started making it part of thier patrol route...  some dummy kid with an AK was pointing it at ppl that lived near there and they freaked.

a bush falling out of a tree that is screaming profanities about rope would probably be more terrifying than anything ill bet..  lol

every halloween i lay in wait for neighborhood punks to come by and try to mess with our cars..  the one year i rigged a harness to a large tree in my yard and went swooping down on them in a ghillie was a damn good halloween.

16
got the burlap in feed-bag form from a feed store near my house.  had to dye it myself using the method posted, and the ammount i used on my gun was probably a bag and a half worth..  the bags were like 2-2.5 feet long and 1.5 feet wide.  you can buy rolls of the stuff at your local walmart's textile section(where they keep all the sewing and crafts stuff).

well, the AICS is basically a M700 with a different stock and longer mag..  if you have used a tanaka M700, you would know more about thier performance than I..  i only have the AICS in its stock form.

go to the search box on the top part of the screen, type "tanaka M700" and hit enter.  for some reason its not letting me link the search results.

all that you see there *should* fit.  there are 2 mock silencer adaptors up there.  one ofr $15 and the other for $25.  the $15 one id for counter clockwise threads only, the $25 one is for clockwise threading.  make sure you pick the one that will fit your mock silencer you want.

:D

Could you define 'consistently' when you're talking about hitting that head and torso sized target at 300 feet?  I've read alot of big fish stories (not accusing you here) and I'd like to know more about how you obtained your results i.e. did you measure the distance?  if so, how (looks like you estimated from a post above)?  How much hold over?  How much windage/hold off?  How many shots out of ten did you hit?  Is it a paper target?  Got any photos of the target following a group?

Regardless of the answers, it's a sweet looking rifle and is the only one I'd consider buying at the moment.  Good job on the review, also.  Look forward to hearing your reply on the accuracy measurements.

it wasnt really a target i was purposefully aiming at to test its range, but a section of trunk of a tree @ about 300feet.  i was aiming at somthing really far away that was dark colored so i could see my bbs when i was trying to dial in my hopup and once it was on target, i noticed i could plink this trunk from where i was standing on a pretty regular basis.

thats pretty damn good Boardslide.  i like how you left the legs free so they wont get snagged too much.

a trick i learned for my Mk2 suit(threaded like yours, not strips of material) is try not to keep your threads all straight and combed down like cousin It..  scramble those suckers up into one giant dreadlock that you inhabit in the middle of(not like a giant dreadlock hump protruding off your back) and the next time your out on a stalk and need some quick cover, roll around a couple times on some leaflitter and they will coat you in local flora faster than you can say "Hot damn I look sexy!"

cheers!

redwolf has a mock silencer adaptor that i am 90% sure works on this gun..  and i believe most tanaka M700 parts will be compatable with the AICS..  since it is basically a M700 on a AI stock.

dont quote me now..  my gun is pretty much stock as far as internals go..

ooo..  20mm of extra barrel sticking out?  looks like a job for Mr. Supressor!  i highly reccomend adding a supressor to your rifle.. i swear.. it was like it wasnt even firing until i noticed the hedges i was aiming at were being shredded.

a long inner barrel isnt a problem if you dont mind an extra bit of barrel length to worry about.. but if it really bugs you, and thats the only barrel you have, you could cut it off to fit flush and ream the hole to prevent a BB from getting jammed on the tip.

hope it helps.

Wouldn't beer make you flame up more?  I always though alchohol was flammable.
the guy holding the Gin bottle had a good reason and enough sobriety to step away from me at the time.. i did happen to be flailing a 16oz can in one hand, and a large scary-looking pistol in the other while cursing loudly.  like i said..  i dont reccomend wearing a ghillie around flame-bearing idiots.

synthetic ghillies are good for hunting turkey and other small animals, but against a human target, who in this case is probably paranoid out of thier mind..  nothing beats au natural like burlap can.  y'dig? :D

get some fire retardent stuff tho..  im not sure how it works, but ill tell you this, if even a friggen ember hits your suit the thing will go up scary fast.  real crappy feeling if your in it at the time.

and on a related note, don't wear your ghillie to a halloween party where there are drunken a**holes who think it would be a hoot to see what your reaction would be...  cause mine was to whip out my 480fps MK23 and demonstrate what that feels like at close range..  after i did the whole stop-drop-and-douse-your-legs-in-beer of course.

fire retardent FTW baby.
