AEG Discussion II / Cybergun A15 parts compatibility questions!
« on: April 27, 2012, 02:29:22 PM »

Hey.

So, I bought Atilla's Cybergun Panther DPMS A15, and it keeps blowing fuses.  I'm looking to fix it up, but I hear that it contains some non standard parts.
Has anyone owned one of these and made any upgrades?  If so, could you point me in the right direction with anything you've replaced (successfully), ideally with brand names?

I really, really cannot find good information on this gun anywhere.
Any information would be great, and thanks in advance!

Spring Discussion / Re: Can you recommend a 1911-style pistol for me?
« on: February 15, 2012, 04:21:04 PM »
I went ahead and got a UTG 1911, as well as the UHC 1911.  As near as I can tell, the UTG is exactly the same.  Open ejection port, field strippable.  Can use the same mags, although the UTG comes with two metal 13/90 reservoir mags as opposed to the 22 round or whatever plastic mags.  The range and accuracy of this thing is shocking, and while it's not an authentic steel 1911 finish, it is heavy and feels nice.  So far, I am extremely pleased.

UTG just put out a metal 1911 that seems to be a direct copy of the UHC 1911.  Might have to give that one a whirl!

Yeah.  But what is underneath it?  Some sort of sharp edge on the corners?  Is there any sort of texture?  If it isn't going to be comfortable to grip after I put on my own panels, I'd just as soon go with another pistol.

Hmm.  I just realized the wrap-around grip.  I kind of wanted to put on a custom panel.  Have a second favorite?  lol

I wasn't aware that 1911s were flintlock firearms.  :|

I hated those pics.  Not that I'm very photogenic anyway, but they just made me look like a huge green corn-fed wookiee.

lol, 15 views, no votes.  Those must be the ones who are having the same dilemma!

O HAI THAR SPRING SECTION!

I'm having a tough time deciphering which 1911-style springers are worth checking out.  Usually I can dig up enough information and crappy reviews to make a semi-educated decision, but this one eludes me.  I'm finding so few reviews, and a lot of them are pretty mixed.  I'm leaning toward the TSD 1911, even though I don't like the fancy styling as much as the plain old 1911 of the UHC, which quite frankly, looks like a cheap piece... But a lot of people swear by it, and the open ejection port and takedown features are rather appealing.
I'd get a Marui, but I'm not willing to risk confiscation due to trades, and I will not accept marred trademarks.

I'm torn!  Anyone with a basis for compairson have any suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

Pics were before I did the front of the pants.  Info on the suit's design is in my previous post above.

This is where I usually complain about being a massive amazon, but I'm going to just skip it this time.  ;]

Sniper's Perch / Re: Ghillie Suit Options

My ghillie suit was purchased.  The base is a very breathable, yet durable material (not sure exactly what it is).  Even came with a boonie hat and a veil (also with material hanging all over it).  I removed the jute from the front of the legs, and the front of the jacket.  That stuff went into the rifle wrap.  I cut up a set of used bdus, and shoe gooed the front pockets (including the button-up front) to the base.

This allows me to low crawl, while not overheating as with many custom suits.  It's reasonably durable, although I'd recommend reinforcing a store-bought suit with a tiny dab of shoe goo.  That'll take ages, too, fyi.  lol

There are pics of it around somewhere on this forum, I forgot where.  It's pretty snazzy!
Overall cost was like 80 bucks or something.

My vote.. Buy one pre-made, so you don't die of heat, then change it to your heart's content!

Awesome, a whole bunch of guns that I have zero interest in.  Except for possibly the MEU(SOC).  That little m4 makes my eyes water.  I'm going to tie a chain to it, and use it as a flail.  In all seriousness, though, I'm sure that even the ugliest one will be solid as hell, I've certainly never used a Marui replica that I had any problems with.

Hey Marui, let's make some more guns for us tall girls.  DO IT.
No?  Worth a try.  Hehe...

Easily over a grand on my VSR-10 G-Spec.  Search for pics.  :P

How I miss actually playing.  *sad*

Looks good.  For cosmetic purposes only?  Or do you have something other than a 40mm grenade that you can use for re-enactments?

Sniper's Perch / Re: Can a USR-11 handle a Laylax 120 SSP or whatever?
« on: February 03, 2007, 01:37:28 AM »
If you take the weight out of the stock piston of the USR, you get like... What?  350+ fps?  It's about the same as the one in there.  It should take an sp120 no problem... I'd say don't worry about the extra 30 or 40 fps, and save the 20 bucks.  :)

I have a Zero Trigger, and I've shot a bajillion bbs with mine (slight exaggeration).  It seems to have absolutely no wear where the sears hold.  Must be pretty solid.  Just don't try and take it apart...  -.o

Emulational high-powered nicety!  LOL!

Looks good... It doesn't seem right being in black though.  I like the OD.  "It makes operation more exciting."

Make sure your spring guide is screwed in tightly, if it's loose you can have that happen.  Check it...

Sniper's Perch / Re: Did you have to fix your USR-11?
« on: January 02, 2007, 10:40:37 PM »
I've had my USR for like 6 months now, the only things I changed were the G-Spec outer barrel and inner barrel.  The bolt is unopened.  I love that thing, and it's quite a solid performer out of the box.   Absolutely no problems at all.  Only complaint.. Be VERY careful when you're taking apart the hop-up unit, your screws can strip VERY easily.

You all know my stance on the USR-11 :)

Retail Stores / Re: Does anyone have experience with Airsoftshop.com?
« on: November 07, 2006, 07:26:33 PM »
Three or four years ago, my brother ordered an AEG package from AirsoftShop.  It arrived on schedule, with full trades.  If I remember correctly, he may have talked to one of the owners or employees on the phone, and they spoke English.  That's all I can tell you about it, hope it's worth something.  lol

One more for the G-Spec.  With no mods, not only does it have SPECTACULAR range and accuracy, it's the quietest gun I've ever heard... Including the Mk23 NBB with mock suppressor, or any springer I've used.  I was shocked!

Sniper's Perch / Re: Show off your Ghillie!!*56k WARNING*
« on: September 28, 2006, 11:54:39 AM »
Here are some pics at a friend's house that we just took.

The ghillie itself is a commercial hunting ghillie that I've modified. It's not done yet, but you can see the bdu material (WITH pockets!) in front that I've shoe-gooed on (very sturdy, it seems - the glue has hardened into the tiny holes in the mesh) and the lack of jute on the bottom of the pants in the front.  The pants will be covered in the front, too.  Plus, it's really cool and breathable because the back and sides are like this tough little camo net, for lack of a better description, with tiny tiny holes.  The wind blows right though!  I haven't had a chance to get the suit nice and weathered, so you don't hafta tell me how unnatural it looks.  lol... I'm sure it'll get a ton better.

I also took the extra material from the front of the suit and made a rifle wrap!  It's a 5x40 inch section of Badminton net, with little bunches of jute tied on.  I shoe-gooed a few of them to the net, but didn't like how it looked, semi-shiny little bits of glue. Pleh.  So they're just tied.  The end of the barrel, and the front and rear of the scope can fit snug into the 1-inch holes in the Badminton net, and you can see through it just fine, and it even covers the top of the scope with ghillie!  Very cool idea.  *pats self on back*

For those of you who haven't ever seen a picture of me, yeah I'm frickin' huge.  So don't say OMG UR _____ IS HUEG!!!111oneone  I'd also like to add that those boots are like a size and a half too big.  lol

So here they are... Enjoy!

The wrap fell off the barrel in this shot.  My fault.  lol

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: What makes ASR so good?

It's decent.  Some good people on here, perhaps less so now than years ago.  At least there is still some maturity.  It's just that the mature people usually aren't the ones posting.  :X  No offense intended, especially if you are in fact 13.  :)

It'd be better if I was "promoted" to moderator.  *coughs, looks around*  ;)

It's simple, great design.  It was easy to register, and I think that not having to do so to view the posts was a deciding factor.  Also, this is the only airsoft forum I'm a member of, and the only forum I currently post on, period.

Man... If they restarted the G3A3... I'd be ecstatic!  I'd been considering the SG-1 and then changing the furniture to look like an a3, but that'd leave me with a black stock and handle... And I have terrible luck with painting stuff and keeping it on through use.  lol.

I refuse to buy the springer version.
