A no name p226 springer with a mock silencer, rail, laser and fake red dot. That was when I was younger though and didn't care for it.
The real change for me was a shotgun I got for 20$, I think it was a sd87.
My first AEG was a KS p90 tri rail. Worked great for over a year until my friend put a G&P motor and a lipo in it. He got 40 rps for about 2 seconds before it died.
First Gas Pistol was either a WE 1911 Desert warrior, KWA m93r with a plastic slide or a KWA first gen m9..I can't remember which I got first.

Great choice, I heard somewhere that they run best off of duster gas. Don't take my word for it though, lol.

TM's will last a lot longer, shoot better, and be more efficient with the plastic slide.
WE's are know to have very bad quality control. You can be extremely lucky and get a good one, but most of the time you'll get a pistol that'll break apart on you rather quickly.

Back in August a team member of ours threw together a Vietnam oriented event that was concentrated in a large swamp that is placed right in the middle of our field. It was a loosely MILSIM oriented OP, but allowed people that didn't have full 'nam gear to be on the VC faction under either Civi, Tan or Black. The day was based on the US forces defending "Khe Sanh" (A large base) and keeping the VC out of the swamp. I was on the US team, which was outnumbered 3 to 1.
As a quick background of the OP, the day started with most of the US team sitting in trenches and in pillboxes/bunkers along a riverbed. Then, the NVA made a large scale charge on our frontline. They had to run across an open field that we were overlooking, and I happened to capture their charge with a crappy camera I brought with me:

Their numbers over ran us however, and we were pushed into the swamp, which made it difficult to see more than 30 feet away. I was stationed in a pillbox most of the day thereafter, but it was a great OP
Here's a better video filmed and edited by a fellow player.

Basic Training <--- YOUR FIRST POSTS HERE / Hello!
« on: May 01, 2012, 04:44:30 PM »
Hey everyone, I somehow missed the basic training section. Well, I'm from Maine, callsign Fire Cracker. I've been playing for about 3 years now, have been around the block with gear and weapons, and have found that the best solution to gameplay is something you aren't afraid to beat up, and more gear= more problems.
So, hello everyone, hope to spread the Maine community on to a more global scale. We have two main fields- Harris Farm Field (Part of NEASG, MILSIM oriented) in Southern Maine, and then Mills Stream Airsoft (Hosted by Spartan Assault airsoft team, the field is commonly referred to Spartan Assault.) which is where I play. I'm part of the team, which is 9 ish years old I believe. We have games every Sunday without charge. For info look up our forums, it's pretty easy to find via google.
A bit more about myself- I am an identical twin, which is VERY handy in some games. I am very familiar with hop up and barrel diagnosing and upgrading, and then I also operate the Spartan Assault youtube channel, which contains a bunch of first person combat videos filmed with my gopro. Check us out! http://www.youtube.com/user/Spartanasltairsoft?feature=mhee
For those in the area, we have our first OP of the season coming up, being operated by my twin (this is his second OP that he has coordinated. Last year he wrote Irish Compromise, which almost broke our record profit and turnout wise.)

Heyo everyone! First OP of the season is coming up on up. For anyone in the North East, you may have heard of our field, as it's been around for quite some time. Sorry for the lengthy title, but anyway, here's your info:

Operation Odyssey Dawn
June 2011- Libya
Civil war has broken out on Libyan soil. Chaos has erupted due to the actions of dictator Muammar Gaddafi, defended by his regime forces and loyalists. He violently enforces his rule throughout the streets of his country, but has met his match by an armed civilian militia with the aid of NATO airstrikes and missile attacks. The fate of Libya lies within its own people.

There is no fee, weapon limit, or mag/ammo limit so long as it falls within Spartan Assault Airsoft safety limits.

Factions-
Gaddafi Regime- Desert/Tan Camo, Black- Respawn Cp2
Gaddafi
Rebels- Civilian, mixed camo (NO TAN)- Respawn Alpha
Role-play- Civilian
Cameraman and Journalist- Civilian

Point system- Worldwide Opinion- Forces will be awarded points for completing objectives throughout the day, known as Worldwide Opinion (WO) points. The team with the most WO points at the end of the day means the world sees them as the good side, thus leading to a victory. When an objective is completed, call it over Channel 3 on the radio to get your points recorded.

Schedule-
9AM-10AM- Registration and Chrono
10AM-10:30AM- Briefing
11AM- Game Start
6PM (Numbers depending)- Game End

This is an all day operation, in other words, there are no “breaks”. You are to bring all of your gear to your respected base, where you can eat, drink, reload, etc. There is no firing in or out of the respawn bases (CP2 and Alpha). Camping these areas will result in a warning and forced relocation. Failure to comply will result in ejection from gameplay.
The entire field is simulated as the city of Tripoli.

Intel-
The game will start with a riot in the Patty. The rebels will be rioting with the Regime sent to stop violence from occurring. The Regime cannot fire unless fired upon.

Capturing Bases- At the end of the day, teams will receive 5 WO points per base in their control. To capture a base, you must have at least one player within the walls for five minutes.

Supplies- There are two supply zones throughout the field- LZ and Fishpen. For every hour a team controls one of these bases, two points are awarded (Four if both bases are controlled). There are also ammo cans hidden throughout the field; bring one back to a supply zone to earn 4WO.

Vehicles- The Regime is in control of two vehicles- The truck and the tank. The Rebels are to place pipe bombs within them and detonate them. They can be placed by anybody, and are exploded after five minutes of being planted. It is recommended to keep the bombs at the respawn zone for availability. The vehicles are not allowed to be moved, but their locations are unknown to the Rebels. +2WO Each

Gaddafi and Cell Leader- Gaddafi and the Cell Leader both enter the game in the last half (2:30 onward). Intelligence can be obtained about either one by talking to the civilians on the field. If they feel threatened, they will shoot. They will only tell you information if you pay them enough money (REAL money, they will not accept any other bribe. The money goes towards donations to the field.). The amount you pay will reflect in how good the information you receive is. +5WO

Out for Hire- Every civilian can be recruited to either team with the proper bribe. Each civilian will require $20 to be hired, and will also come with as much information as they know about locations of ammo crates, where Gaddafi may be hidden and who he is (For Rebels), and where the Cell Leader is and who he is (For Regime).

If you have questions, please do ask. Better yet, follow the appropriate links and ask there. Thank you everyone!
