Okay so full wrack azimuth, for piston head would a G&P explosive be good, or would this be a good option:

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_74_386&products_id=34468

What would be the best gear set for a fast trigger response?

I'm going to grab some shims and some steel bushings while I'm at it.

Thank you,

Rex

Alright thank you for the reply. I already have a AMP Hi Torque. I should probably get a SHS gearset, but what kind? I dont need it to shoot in the high 400's or anything. I'm fine with it being in the high 300's. And will a blue asimuth piston be good with SHS Gears? Should I go with the full metal wrack gear or the partial metal wrack gear on the piston? http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=6041

And for piston head, would a metal or plastic be preferable?

Lastly, what is a good brand to rewire the gun with, if it needed it?

Thank you,

Molder

Thank you for the in depth reply. Okay replacing some parts should be more affordable: motor, piston, gears, shims, spring guide, cylinder head?

What exactly does a mosfet do? Could you point me to a good one?

Thank you,

Gun Modifications/Parts/Accessories / Upgrade parts for A&K Masada?
« on: July 06, 2011, 07:23:57 PM »
Hello,

I recently bought a A&K Masada and I am wondering if I might as well replace the whole gearbox rather than rebuilding it.

Here are two gearboxes I found:

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_68_518&products_id=32977

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_68_518&products_id=30249

I need the gun to be able to handle a 11.1 volt and I would like it to have a good air seal so it might be consistent.

Between the two gearboxes what might offer better performance, I've never used either but I know G&P makes good stuff. I'm just asking the community what might be the best option for my situation. Sorry if this is redundant, I searched but couldn't really find anything.

Thank you,

Molder

Ahh all the info I needed, thanks a lot Yetifas.

Anyone know a good site to buy the gears and motor from? Any recommendations on a motor and gears?

Edit: Does anybody Know If Kwa gears will fit in this gearbox?

31
Okay thanks for the info, I don't want a whining loud gun. I do have some extra trigger contacts, Ill see if I can make it work. No use spending an extra $30.

Thanks,

Molder

Edit; Does anyone know the specific parts the gearbox uses?

32
Thanks for the quick reply, one of the contacts is burnt in half, if you look real close at the picture you can see it.

You think the Helical gears are a good choice, they are pretty cheap compared to others I've seen.

Hope so, recoil looks powerful

Just picked up a used G&G Socom 16, I bought it broken but it was cheap so I'd figure I would fix it up. I know the G&G uses a hybrid type gearbox so if you know of the specifics it would be great if you could cue me in. Also someone who knows about upgrade parts would be a help. Much appreciated.

Problems;

As I had heard the trigger contacts burn out pretty easy, so that needs to be replaced.

Strangely I found the Sector gear to have a broken axle. <- correct term?

So a new gear set is necessary I was thinking this might work.

http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=special&item=GG-10-014&search=special&rs=special_order&catid=&cat=

I was also considering high torque motor, short type. Would this be a good choice?

http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=searchItem&item=GD-PT-GE0111&search=special&rs=motor&catid=&cat=

And will those parts work in conjunction? If not got a recommendation?

For the cylinder assmebly I figure if at least two of these will work its worth it. Is the cylinder head good a match with the G&G, how bout the spring guide?

http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=special&item=HE-PT-02221&search=special&rs=special_order&catid=&cat=

Lastly I will probably buy the trigger contacts for $30 from airsoft gi, if you know of a better place it would be appreciated.

And this may just be me but I cant seem to get the bearings out, and if i want to go upwards of 400 fps I should have bushings correct?

Thats all I can think of for now but if you know of anything else that should be replaced just leave a reply.

Thanks for the help I'll post a video when done,

-Molder

There should be a hole for it on the back of your spring guide.

So the spring is the culprit for the low fps? Would the cylinder I have now work with a M14 length barrel  (455 mm)?

I dont understand, does it have a different cylinder head that lowers the air flow? Or is it just the short barrel.

Yes I checked and its a port towards the rear of the cylinder. So with a longer barrel I should be getting higher FPS?

40
It has locktight, and you might want to use a hair dryer to heat it up, mine was counterclockwise.

Why is your site so inexpensive?

Ive got a Kwa M4 cqb, and I have heard the fps is in the 340s not because of the spring (the 400 fps spring), but because of the cylinder head. Is this true, in that case would I be best off ordering a new cylinder head from the Kwa Proshop?

Thanks

That isnt uncommon, oil should turn that color as it is picking up debris as the moving parts wear.

Yes my accuracy isnt horrible, though it is quite bad, but mostly its the lack of "hop-up" altogether.

fun game, its like warcraft, or dota

49
It should slow down the piston right before it hits the cylinder head, making it quieter, as well as reducing the impact so the front of your gearbox doesn't break. It may reduce fps as well.

Problem Solving / Kwa M4 Unresponsive Hop-up
« on: March 16, 2011, 06:52:47 PM »
Just bought a used Kwa M4 CQB 2GX, and it won't shoot past 120 feet. I understand it is around 340 fps but the weird thing is that the hop up seems to do nothing. When I removed the hop-up/inner barrel to look at them, I could see the 2 fangs protrude more as I turned the hop-up dial. The hop-up is adjusting, its just not doing anything, also I'm not sure if this is normal but the gun seems to have sub par accuracy.

Thank you,

Molder
