G&G FNC Gearbox Removal
« on: September 29, 2011, 04:23:20 PM »

Hey everyone, so right now I'm trying to remove the gearbox out of my FNC and I'm completely stumped!

Here's what my gun looks like as of now:

I simply have no idea what my next step is. Half of the pins on the body are fake and I have no idea which one if any is real. On top of that there's the matter of removing the fire selector which seems to have no feasible means of removal.

Anyways, I would usually jump right in and hammer away until something happened but I already snapped the mag catch in half and I'm a bit hesitant to break something like the fire selector that's not readily replaceable.

If anyone has any insight that'd be awesome!

Is that pin by the 'S' removable?

Judging by the design, if there was a pin there, it'd go right though the spur gear.

Remove the rearmost pin behind the "S". The link is in Italian, but google translate it and you can get a good idea of what to do.

"Removing the Gear Box from the receiver is simple but requires a minimum of care:
- Remove the motor grip as You do in any other ASG by close attention to the steel spring which is located just behind the trigger. This spring has no mechanical function but reproduces the spring of the real gun trigger;
- Remove the rear pin as You do in ASG of the Colt series;
- Loosen the Phillips head screw that holds the stock to the receiver;
- Loosen the hex head bolt that holds the rod spring guide support on which runs the fake bolt."

I meant the one behind the S. I should have been more clear.

Thanks so much man, that's exactly what I needed. That rear pin was really tight but one I popped it out the gearbox slid right out.
