Need a Vest Spacer
« on: October 15, 2011, 09:50:05 AM »

Hey Guys,

Alright so I got a condor vest.  I don't know the name for it, but its more a chest rig than anything.  Anyway its slightly big on me.  I rigged it to fit more snugly, but its not quite what I want.  I'm looking for something to fill the space to help fit the vest a little better.  I saw a youtube vid where a guy used type of body armor that wasn't a vest it was simply body armor that velcroed together.

I need help finding some way to fill the space.  Please help.
Thanks
-Jared

Have you tried to put "plates" in it? I am a smaller guy and this is my rig. Is this what you have?

My Condor RRV
front view

then in back

the "plates" I use to just form it to my body better is cardboard wrapped in black duct-tape and they do the trick.

Post some pictures of you in your rig that will help us alot also with what you might need to do to snug up the rig.

Built in bungie pouches for mags as well?. I think i know what your talking about. Does your rig have slots of balsitic plates on the inside of it?

This is what I put in mine to form it more to the body. You would be surprissed how much it really does tighten up everything and it is more comfortable IMO.
single "plate"

The set up inside my rig

Yes I did make them :)

Items needed:
Cardboard sheets atleast 10x10 I would say
A Knife of something to cut and grove the cardboard with
and Duct tape to wrap the cardboard plates and make them look better
First have vest with you so you can messure what your need to cut the sheets to in length and height

then messure about an inch or so where it would starp to wrap around your body and make a small crease with the knife DONT CUT THROUGH IT! and then wrap in the tape and slide into vest and make in section's if needed dont need ot have one giant plate

I'd suggest working out. Muscles feel in empty space a lot better and they serve to help you with work, picking up girls, defending yourself, the list really goes on and on.

I'd go with the muscles.
