Like I said, my scope helps me more than it hinders me. I find it useful in most of my shooting situations. Besides, my gun is pretty front heavy (It's an m16 SPR + Bipod) so even if I take the scope off, my reaction time is still pretty slow. That is why I will be getting a pistol for closer engagements. In another round that day I used my scope to take down their support gunner within 30 seconds of the start of that game.
 With a red dot, I could aim at my target's entire face, with a scope, I can aim right between the eyes of my opponent. If I miss with the red dot, I'll miss my target's head. If I miss with the scope, I'll miss between the eyes, but probably still hit his forehead.

I learned that at basic training. ;)

As for scopes, if you find it useful, then go ahead. However, make sure you are proficient at using your iron sights in the advent that your scope is damaged. Also, since you are using a longer rifle, it makes better sense to use the scope. Just make sure you don't become too reliant on it.

Sounds to me like your scope does not help more than hinder you if the problem is not being able to acquire the target quick enough.

ghost sniper:
Aggresiveness of action. If I go around the corner the I am going to move so violently that nobody want's to be in my way that means if it's a 10 meter sprint to that other piece of cover I'm hauling ass. With airsoft the advantage is that you have several seconds between their reaction and bb's coming in so instead of going back into cover go to the next piece of cover.
