I'm at Wal-Mart last night standing at the Sporting Goods counter waiting for my brother to get off so I could give him a ride home. A guy comes up to the counter (this is a Walmart that still sells guns/ammo at the counter) and says:
Yo, do you have any of those bullets that kill people?
He was 100% serious.
I thought it might have been a rare Atilla sighting...but then...
i'd go drinking with that guy, he seems legit.
Speaking of Wal-Mart, I remember the first time I went there (I was 19-20) and was looking at the sporting goods aisle and made a left turn and bang (no pun intended), guns & ammo. I've seen a couple of gun stores before, but it seemed odd that this section was between sporting goods (like basketball and baseball, not camping or hunting) and the toy section. Rifles and shotguns were on display and easily picked up, not resting behind a wall (ammo was in a locked glass case). I remember it struck me as very odd.
A few months later there was a news report about some stupid kid shooting someone, somewhere and he/she/it purchased everything at Wal-Mart. Long story short, the next time I went to that same Wal-Mart, no gun section at all. Might have been because of that incident which forced new policy, or they weren't selling well in that store (near Mohegan Lake, NY). I digress.
