Man, I ran into a wall right away with #2, keep moving.
As a sniper, cover and lack of movement are two of my key things.
Movement is one of the first things I spot, and usually it's after my ears hear an AEG operating.
I got my head dusted by trying to use buildings and peak over the window ledge. (Movement)  :o
I don't think I heard the AEG that dusted my head, I was busy wondering when the hail was going to end.
I learned real quick to stick to the brush and low and slow.
But YMMV.  ;)

IMO sticking rigidly to one set of tactics is a certain way to get your ass handed to you on a plate as the other side will quickly work out what you're doing and counter it. Also different tactics wil work better in different environments

However here are a few pointers:
Watch your corners. If you're in a group and everyone is facing forwards then nobody will see the flanking round or hiding ready to shoot you all in the back
Keep your spacing. Bunching up creates big easy targets that can result in many people being taken out quickly, either with a grenade or a couple of short bursts
Learn from others. Try tagging along with a more experienced player, watch what they do and follow their direction.
Post game analasys. After the game try going over what worked and what didn't along with why. This doesn't have to be anything too formal or serious, eg while chilling out with a few beers with teammates or even in your head if you're not in a team

PRIDE. TEAMWORK. EFFORT. We'll have none of that bull**** around here!
A sniper is the person, a sniper rifle is the weapon. Know the difference
