Does the "100Y" model house the battery in the RIS? What kind of space are we looking at here?

Nunchuck.  I'd assume a similar setup to the ICS Bushmaster Carbon 15 I reviewed.

Yes the RIS holds the 9.6v nun-chuck perfectly. The simplicity of the 100Y makes the S-System style RIS compartment look like a joke.
