Is this pistol worth buying?
SuperGamecube64:
I'm looking for an inexpensive but effective side arm. I typed in airsoft pistol on eBay and found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Heavy-Weight-Silver-AirSoft-Hand-Gun-With-Extra-BBs-Fiber-Optic-Site-New-/290712789134?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43afd5208e
I'm wondering if it is any good at all. I can't find a brand anywhere in the listing. I'm sure he BBs it comes with are no good, but I don't plan to use them anyway. What do you guys think? Should I take the chance at $15, or is this not even worth my time?
Sparky D:
Rip off? no, not really. Although, if I were in the market for a spring pistol, I wouldn't buy that one. Low power, short range, and I can almost guarantee you'll break it trying to cock it in the heat of battle. (BTW, it looks like an HFC. Not terrible, but not great)
FYI, effective and inexpensive generally do not share the same sentance in Airsoft.
You get what you pay for, and judging from the link, you don't want to pay a lot, which means you're not going to get a lot.
The best spring pistols I've found in the $20-25 ranges are the KWC guns and the UTG SOCOM Mk.23 spring pistol.

Those prices aren't too bad. And no, I'm not looking to spend a lot. I've already spend over $250 just to get the things I needed to start playing, haha.
Sparky D:
You don't really need a sidearm either. Most times, I go without. The only times I carry one is if the field has CQB type engagements inside my AEGs MED.

See if you can dig up one of those co2 24/7s on ebay. 'Might' be able to get a new one for around $40 with the right auction. Otherwise there's used ones for around that price or airsoftmegastore has them new for $50. They're really not bad to carry for the price and it will find more use than a springer. I'd say that's about the minimum for starting with a pistol, otherwise it's not really worth having a backup.
Option 2 is getting a cheap shotgun, which will also serve you much better than a spring pistol for about the same price. It's just a little more bulky to carry.
