How to Slide ICS-19 Upper Gearbox Out?
« on: July 13, 2012, 05:19:24 PM »

I'm trying to remove the upper gearbox from an ICS MX-5 Pro (with SFS stock). Once I get to the point where I'm sliding the gearbox rearward, the tappet plate "fin" runs into a cross-bar (structural piece) on the upper body shell. How do I get past this interference?

I have an ICS m4, and am familiar with disassembly for that gun. The M4 does not have the cross-bar.

UPDATE: After many tries, I figured out how to bend the "fin" to the side enough to get past the cross-bar. If anyone knows a better way than bending the tappet plate, let me know.

I was unable to delete this message.

That's the only way to do it that I'm aware of.  I think I included that info in my review of it, but maybe not.
