What voltage batteries do you use in your guns?
« on: June 15, 2006, 02:34:23 PM »

Please only select the voltages that you actually use in your AEG's.  For example, I use an 8.4v in my MP5 and a 9.6v in my M4, so I will select both of those options.

Extra Credit:
1) If you have chrono'd results showing your ROF, please list them aswell.
2) If you use over a 9.6v, please state the modifications, if any, that you've done to your AEG in order to run that battery.

-------------------------------------------

My Results
1) ICS M4 w/ 9.6v NiCd 1700mAh
-335fps @ 14rps w/ Bearing Bushings

2) UTG MP5 w/ 8.4v NiMh 3300mAh (30amp)
-300fps @ 14rps w/ Metal Bushings & Polycarb Inserts

11.1v and 14.8v

I've modified the poll to include an 11.1 and 12+ option.

Can you go into more detail on your 14.8v?  What kind of ROF are you getting and with what spring?  What upgrades do you need to perform in order to run that reliably?

ALOT, i can tell you that without even knowing.

I use 8.4V because it puts less stress on my gun, and my gun already fired at a very nice ROF, although i cant tell you exactly

I use a 9.6v 1100 mAh battery in my CA M15A4. It has a M120 spring in it. I think I'm getting about 370-390 FPS.

9.6v in stock tm m4s 18 rounds per sec

12v in modified m4s 28rps @ 330fps. ive also ran this gun with a 11.1v lipoly but never measured the rps.

9.6v in modified tm m14 @ 425fps, unknown rof i never shoot the gun in full auto.

10.8v in modified tm g36 +22rps @ 390fps. 8mm ball bearing gearbox + total tune up.

i also run 7.2v in my guns sometimes when i dont need the rof or when im trying to get a realisitc rof.

i use an Sanyo 8.4v 3000 mAh in my M15A4 Rifle.  I never use full auto (i'm a Semi kinda guy), so i don't really need the 9.6v for added ROF.

even with semi auto only the higher voltage helps with quicker response time. a 9.6v or 10.8v will  shorten the trigger lag.

I use 8.4V in everything, exept I just got a new, fancy 3800mAh 9.6V Battery, so I use that in my WGC M16 (yipee)

TM G3 SAS
9.6v 3800Mah battery
25 rps
390fps

Everything in the gearbox is upgraded, except for the anti-reversal latch. Mainly SystemA, except for Prometheus HS gears, guarder air nozzle, and a PDI 140% spring. I am using a SystemA HS motor as well.

ICS M4a1
-Systema M100
-Systema Piston Head
-ICS Full Metal Piston

I run a 9.6v 2200mah NiMH Nunchuck.  It really is an extreme tight sqeeze in my handguard that I normally have to tape it shut, so now I have it mounted under the botton handguard.  It gives me decent rps, I'd guess around 16-17, and it shoots 350.  But, I am always on Semi for better accuracy, unless there is a need for added firepower(coverfire, getting moved up on, etc.)

Wow, Antimatter and DDG, you guys have some crazy ROF setups.  Antimatter, I wouldn't wanna be hit by that G3SAS. =)

Man, I must be doing something wrong.  Does 14rps sound slow to you guys for an M100 spring on an ICS M4 w/ ball bearing bushings?  I'm using the standard ratio ICS gears and the ICS EG-2000 motor.  The default wiring on my ICS is 18awg but it's supposed to be high quality 18awg...

Off topic:

What would be the best way to get a higher rof, with out high speed gears, or a high volt batt?

DDG, could you post some more info on your 10.8V TM g36?  I'm thinking about getting an Sl9 kit and upgrading internals to shoot 390fps with a 10V battery, just hoping to get some ideas.

well lazarus, are you running a stock piston?  I ran one for a little bit and it was stripped to shreads after some shots.  But, there was just enough of it to catch and it shot slowly.  But, after I got my ICS Alumminum Piston and Systema Pistonhead the rof went up.  My set up is quite similar to yours so...

Thats my two cents.

I use 8.6 with everything. Thats becasue I make every shot count, so I've never had much use for lots of MAH, or high ROFs.

8.4v model airplane batteries (I have 2) They are small 600-800mah...I think 800.  But ehy have a really really high discharge rate.  As in a full discharge in about 7 mins (plane at full throtle).  I also have an old RC 9.6 that I use in my old lpeg.

EDIT: 1k post...I spend waaaayyyy too much time here :)

I've got a 10.8v battery seen HERE... I know this is going to sound crazy.. but all I've done, is put a PDI 170 spring in, and my brother's copper bushings from his Airsoft Elite Mp5... I still have STOCK Tokyo Marui Gears!!!!!!!!! AND I've gone through at least 25,000 rounds.

In that video, my battery was only about half charged ;)
I get about 20 bbs a second.

i'm using a guarder piston, systema silent head set, and systema bearing spring guide.  My piston is brand new and not worn at all.

My shimming should be good too... i was careful to use the different size shims to get a proper fit for all gears, they were all shimmed until adding a .02 would start to cause friction.

*shrug*, maybe i should replace this eg2000 motor with something better, and stick this in my MP5...
