IDK... I bought a CA36E about 3 months back. That was a lemon and a half. The thing shot WAY left due to a bad barrel/hopup alignment, then the hopup just randomly snapped and the part securing it to the gun acually fell out, then the selector switch randomly popped off and no longer clicks into place (never had a positive feel in the first place), so on and so forth.
Ouch. I feel for you man.
holy crap..... i was just about to order a CA G36c and i decided to check the forum forinteresting information quick and here this is. I am asking are you sure you had to disassemble the gun to remove the frays, or could you snip them off or carefully sand then refurbish?
also you may have accidentally damaged the gun during dissassembly or reassembly, even in a slight way the gun could lose major preformance.
I want to ask how the specs on yours compare to the companies claims, could you give us an actual fps joules and accuracy stats or at least realistically estimate?
i will hold off on my purchase until i recieve an answer. thanks!
In answer to your questions:
-Some CA G36's I've seen were a little less messy than mine, so you're looking at an issue that may or may not be a problem. It also goes to show the kind of consistency CA has in their quality control. Disassembly of the body to remove the frays was not necessary, but it helped a lot. It also wasn't difficult to do.
-I think it important to add: I work at an airsoft shop. My current occupation is selling, repairing, and upgrading airsoft guns. I work on guns EVERY DAY. Damaging the gun by disassembly or assembly is highly unlikely.
-I can't remember what all the exact specs were on the gun when I first got it, so I'll have to give you an estimate.
Velocity: 310-320 fps with 0.20s
Rate of fire with a 9.6v: Approx. 800 rounds/min.
Maximum range with 0.20s: 160-170 feet.
(Range with 0.25s with the hop up all the way up was about 100 feet.)
Consistency at 150 feet: about 5 foot diameter.
Acceptable accuracy to torso-region: 80-100 feet.
Once again, I think a lot of people that posted in this thread either didn't pay attention to anything I said, or completely misunderstood. I don't think the gun is a piece of crap, I'm just highly disappointed in it because of its lack of initial performance and lack of part compatibility, in comparison to Marui. The body of the CA is much nicer than the Marui; in that respect, I'm still somewhat glad I bought this gun.
I just received my new gearbox shell in the mail today. I will post and inform everyone of my findings as soon as it is installed and tested. Peace.
