NEW Folding Stock UTG AK-47
« on: July 21, 2006, 08:49:59 PM »

Hey i was just browsing around and decided to look at the leapers website and found a new folding stock UTG AK-47 that should be coming out soon.

http://leapers.com/pages/airsoft%20sport/airsoft-aeg-intro.htm

I think it looks pretty cool but I wonder if it is the same as the folding stock CYMA AK?
I hope its a new one with a better folding stock.

Edit: It says it comes with metal mags

Just as I expected. Its a rebrand of the Cyma CM028 people. Thats my guess anyways. The only other possibility is that it is the JG plastic gearbox AK, but I don't think thats very likely.

No its not a JG because it has a metal gearbox, so that gets ruled out.
I dont think its a CYMA because now that i think about it UTG always uses Double Eagle and Well guns.
I don't think they'd change for this gun, but thats just a guess.

Wow how many UTG warhawks are you going to see..With variations that is.

Next you'll see one with GP-30 launcher. then one with a drum mag . then one with bipod. IT will never end *gasp*.

Good find lol.

Ya they keep stretching out the Warhawk series but as long as they make an rpk or rpd it ill be okay with me.

No one else makes a metal gearbox AKs currently. It is a Cyma. UTG rebrands whatever they want, from UHC, to Cyma/Well/DE.

i believe, UTG rebrands CYMA instead though, with a new hop up and barrel. If not, I hope they use the mechbox from the UTG spetz. I'd buy it right away.

if this is a folding stock DE warhawk, then it would solve the issue of the warhawk stock adapter not being TM compatible.  I'd probably want this over the CM028S (providing it isn't the CM028S) for several reasons, such as better barrel, tm compatible hopup, and no lame feeding issues.

If it's the CYMA... they mention "precision metal barrel", so maybe they took the CM028 and gave it a TM compatible hopup/brass barrel.  Well, one can hope, anyway.

Uhhh, no! JG makes both plastic AND metal gearbox guns.

Cm.028(s) only cost 70 dollars. throwing in some extra crap in a cm.028 body, new air nozzle, new hop up, barrel, metal magazines. never know, UTG doesn't always have to be DE i believe

IF it is not a rebranded CM028S I would like see it's performance in comparison to a CYMA version.

im sure if its not rebranded, UTG ak-47s would have better internals, but just not the stronger spring. Cyma likes to put a stronger spring in their mpegs. pretty smart

I just got this gun and the wood looks really nice. Any ways, the stock kinda broke and it won't lock in place unless its laying on its left side. And to un-lock it it has to be on its right. So is this fixable or should I return it and get a new one? Thanks
