That's right, another Badger out there to contend with!  This time, I also have a video floating around... ah, here it is:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/KF_wwcOcvjo&fmt=22&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/KF_wwcOcvjo&fmt=22&rel=1</a>

The audio timing is of for the video, but still fun to watch...

The Badger Cub is a sidearm version of the Badger Field Gun, but with a few improvements.  First off, it's much more portable.  Second, the barrel tilts up to load, rather than pulling the striker all the way down.

The hammer has three positions: full forwards, half cock, and fully cocked.  To load the gun, pull the hammer back to half cock; this will pull the striker pin just far enough to allow you to tilt the barrel with the empty shell in it.  Press the barrel release from the right side, and tilt the gun forwards to pop the barrel up.  Extract the spent shell, pop in a fresh one, and keep the barrel release depressed to allow the barrel to lock back into place.  When you're ready to fire, just pull the hammer all the way back and you're good to go.  Half cock isn't enough to fire the shell.

The Badger Cub is made mostly from aluminum and wood with a styrene core ABS barrel to keep the weight down.  Some other features include a ported barrel, heavy duty lanyard attachment point, Day-Glo green sights, and a non-slip coating on the receiver topped off in Italian Olive with aux pakerizing on the barrel.  Sorry, no more pics, shipped her out to New York this afternoon...

Pic showing with and without flash... barrel release button is on the other side.  Hammer shown fully cocked.

Half cocked, showing sights and barrel up for loading.

Here's an in-progress shot!

AGP: Dry-transfer lettering...

DJ: Nope, she's built from scratch using aluminum plates and channels.

My apologies, but I'm stupid. Could you explain what dry transfer lettering is? I'd love to be able to do it on my stuff.

Oh, how Glorious!

Did you actually fire a "live" shell in the video?  For some reason it doesn't seem like it...

I'd give it a 10 for innovation and a 10 for craftsmanship.  I guess I'll give it a 20!  Plus it's got the whole practicality thing working for it.  I mean how many commercial grenade launcers can you reload that quickly?

perfect isn't it? i couldnt ask for a better sidearm. it will most likely replace my regular m9 side arm as all i need is to wave this cub around in cqb.  Smiley

Inferno -- what would be your estimate on making one of these for me?  (W/out sights, UHC M1911 Pistol grip, not compensated)

Skull: I've built four so far; a GP-25 from scratch, the Badger & Badger Cub from scratch, and a Marui Tactcal Launcher converted to fire 40mm...

Llama: So you want what's above with no sights, barrel porting, and the the lower half to be mounted to a UH 1911 lower, right?  Send m a PM so everything can be worked out...

its size and a great ROF will make it the best launcher it have, it will be much safe and faster to reload mid battle. when i reload with my madbull launchers on my guns it takes far to long i'll get shot, drop my shell cause im constantly looking around when hidin with this, i can start the reload process with 1 hand and have my dump pouch flap open to drop the shell in it then put a fresh one in. i have a game on sat and it comes friday so you'll see pics and video on sunday.

Very smooth reloading action!  Reminds me a lot of a flare gun externally, but this is good for expelling people out behind a bush.  I suppose making a M79 from scratch woulnd't be difficult at all if you can fabricate this.. could'nt you Inferno?
