Tanaka M700 27rnd mags fit AICS?
« on: February 16, 2006, 02:54:45 PM »

are these the "long" mags that the AICS takes?  i read in a review that the AICS mag holds about 30 rounds, but these ones i found on redwolf say only 27 will fit.

are these mags the same? or have they yet to release mags that work with the AICS?

They should be the same. The AICS uses the M700 platform.

I think that i read the AICS will accept the Long magazines, but it will not take the standard ones because of the stock thickness.

I'm pretty sure they made those long mags for testing the waters before they released the AICS. They were disigned for it I believe.

ahhh..  so the 27 round ones are the long ones then?  they are not designated on redwolf as "long" but they are longer than the standard "5 round" M700 mags.  cool

Yes, pretty much, those work in the AICS, but the shorts don't, which is good because the bigger gas tank, the more consistent the gun is, which is what you want.

All of the sites that sell magazines for anything give slightly different magazine capacities for all. Redwolf always seems to have a different number than a variety of other sites. But yeah, the 27rnd long magazines are the only things that fit the AICS (the rifle I want).
