Note I will not be revising this review into paragraphs. That is not my writing style. I believe it is fine in the format it currently is. If a mod's opinion differs feel free to change it.

I bought a Jin-gong  ak-47B from here: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_150&products_id=1763
------------------------
Intro: I bought this gun because I liked how it looked. I also liked the 350fps stock (330 after test Sad.
It was a very affordable price and looked like if I gave it some slight upgrades it would shred a TM back to Japan. I also liked the metal content.

1)
The Externals10/10

-The gun is very heavy (5.4lb w/battery)
-The paint finish is great and as close to metal as you can get.
-The metal content is very high.
-The gun does not seem at all loose or shaky
-The orange flash hider is metal and removable
-The stock, grip, and front furnishings are a plastic/rubber type-VERY nice and comfortable
-The bolt is metal and will do fine after a good lubing
-The High-Capacity mag holds 250 rounds and is metal

This is a close up of the gun with an Echo-1 Ak-74 mag.
Note: This is not the mag that the gun comes with the gun.

Parts:
-butt plateThe butt plate is metal and reinforced. However, it is stubborn at first at some slight mods are required to break it in. PM me if you have a problem with the butt plate not coming out.

-Stock The stock is a very nice plastic/rubber/almost velvet material. It feels very nice and looks metal. It is just as good as the more expensive stocks.

-Hand grip The hand grip is the same type of material as the stock. It has good grip but one might prefer something a tad softer and more cushioned. Such as a rubber grip. The gun is not light so it would help in those long games.

-Trigger The trigger is metal. It feels so damn responsive!! Its so fun to pull. It just has the perfect amount of tension and you feel like a sniper with it. Grin

- Trigger Guard The trigger guard is metal but nothing special. However, it looks very real. The paint seems like it chips easily but thats not a big problem at all.

Receiver Cover The receiver cover is metal. The sight is built in and is used as a latch to secure the cover to the receiver. Very nicely done. Under this is about a 1.5lb bar. I removed this and the gun feels much more stable.

- Sight The front sight is plastic while the rear one is metal. They aren't really that useful to be honest with you.

- the Bolt The bolt is metal once again and feels a bit cheap until lubed. I just lubed it and it feels much better.

- Selector Nothing special here. It clicks when switched.

-Fore grip The fore grip is made of the same material as the pistol grip and stock. It has a RIS rail on the bottom. It gives the gun a unique tactical feeling.

-Flash Hider The flash hider is all metal and a bright orange color. It feels very solid.

This is a small pic of the gun in its entirety.

Performance
My gun is 300 fps stock.
Video 1: In this video, I measure the pure stock performance with .20g KCS bbs. The first try it just dents it, i was preobably holding it too far away. The second shot pierces the can.
<a href="http://i25.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/maxrezn/DSCF3207.flv" target="_blank">http://i25.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/maxrezn/DSCF3207.flv</a>

Video 2: This is a video of me shooting it on single from about 10 feet away. I don't know if you can tell, but its pinpoint accurate and a great cqb weapon already.
<a href="http://i25.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/maxrezn/DSCF3208.flv" target="_blank">http://i25.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/maxrezn/DSCF3208.flv</a>

Video 3: This video is me shooting 10 rounds of on auto. It's pretty bad and doesn't do justice. I will get another one where I empty a mag outside on full auto.
<a href="http://i25.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/maxrezn/DSCF3209.flv" target="_blank">http://i25.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/maxrezn/DSCF3209.flv</a>

New video This is the gun shooting on full auto with a echo1 highcap. The regular high cap is crap. As you can see the sweater is terrorized and annihilated.
<a href="http://i25.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/maxrezn/DSCF3207-2.flv" target="_blank">http://i25.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/maxrezn/DSCF3207-2.flv</a>

Range
This gun has a range of approximately 120-140ft. It can hit targets very accurately and seems to be perfect for woodland.

ROF
The rate of fire on this gun is around 700. It is very satisfiable.

Accuracy
The accuracy on this gun is spectacular. I did not measure how far away my shots were taken in the woods but let me say this. Unless you have been a sniper for you entire life, you can't complain about the accuracy. I was able to hit trees that were at least 50 yards away.

Internals

Wiring
The wiring is horrible on the outside. It is too much of a tight fit and one part of the wire was worn down to the brass strings.

Shiming
The shimming was pretty darn horrible to tell you the truth. Re-shiming is a necessity.

Upper Half of the Gearbox
This part is actually very high quality and pretty durable. The piston had a reinforced last metal tooth.
The spring guide is plastic so it might be wished to upgrade.

Bushings
They are plastic but thats what's expected.

Gears
The gears say "C.A." on them so they are either legit classic army or clones. They look nice though.

Tappet Plate
Its pretty good. It's not clear so that's a plus. This would be a cheap upgrade as well.

Durability
This gun has a very high metal content. This causes it to be extremely durable. It would be very hard for an external part to be broken on this gun with proper use. The internals are alright but must be upgraded if this gun is expected to last.

Upgrades
These upgrades are in the order of necessity.

1) Re-Shim the gearbox. Why?
Because reshiming will expand the life of your internals and will improve your life.

2) Metal bushings. Why?
The stock plastic bushings aren't up to par with the gun's performance. Metal bushings will make the gearbox more durable and won't deform drastically therefore protecting your gears in a sense.

3) Spring Guide. Why?
The gun comes with a plastic spring guide. Metal spring guides are much more durable and will protect the internals of you gun from a loose spring or plastic spring guide shrapnel.

4) Air Nozzle. Why?
A new air nozzle will improve feeding and make the gun more reliable.

5) Foreword grip. Why?
Many know that this gun doesn't have a smooth fore grip doesn't have a smooth surface like the regular ak. This calls for a forward hand grip to improve comfort and might aid in aiming or response time.

Overall

This gun has many good things going for it. If you don't have the money to afford a Tokyo Mauri then this would be an optimal choice. This gets even better if you are willing to go inside the gearbox. Get some of the upgrades I listed and this gun will be way better than a stock tm. I believe it is already more powerful stock than a tm beta. It is fully compatible so you can put whatever you want into this gun. May I recommend a smart charger, echo 1 high cap mag (feeds well after lube), and a nice Nimh battery.

Easy Mods
[/color]
Here are two cool things I made.
The mock silencer is a replica of the KA 110mm  mock silencer and looks awesome.=$0
The Vertical Grip is made from aluminum cut curtain rod, random joints, zipties, and tape. It attaches to the side and looks so terroristic. It's pretty sturdy too.

Pm me for directions on these simple mods

Gorlock, just shut up and keep it on review only!

Maxren, nice review, when you add more parts...I'm liking it so far!

You have to make sure to cover durability a lot, since a MPEG is nothing without durability.

And how is the Echo mag running? I want the ICS one, but it costs $10 more. Any jams with the echo yet? And exactly how bad was the stock mag?

Thanks

Maxrezn, the review is coming along nicely. Once you get the remaining sections written, I'lll go though and start the edits.

Gorlock, Peer review is NOT the place to discuss the finer points of posting. As such I took the liberty of deleteing all your posts in this thread, and all the posts made in reply to you. Next time I'll just hand you over to atilla or RLB, and let them do whatever they want.

So do you have any other MPEGS or any other ones in general this can be compared to??

And if I just do the basic upgrades, like shims and bushings and such, will this gun be extremely durable...like loaner durable?

I do not have any other guns except this one. I got a lpeg ak and a cheap pistol. Not important.
The total for bushings, shims, white lithium grease, and silicone spray should be around $18. I got bushings and shims from ebay and the lubricants from home depot and auto zone. Pm me if you want specific details

echo 1 is just all rebrands.  you should change your info to dboy mag.  i have the same mag under ftg brand and also under matrix and others in the US.  it is all cool ak74 mag.  actually it is a good clone of the star ak74 and cyma ak74 mag.  get rid of all your feed problems.

your asking the wrong person. this is my only decent gun. I would imagine some minor things are compatible.
:Light goes of in his head:

The barrels are both the same exact length. 229mm

oh sry i thought you said "compatible"
well i would imagine this gun is less durable....much less durable(stock). they both might weigh the same. thats all i can think of. if you have something specific ask me.

Max, you have all the elements you need for a review, now you just have to put them into paragraph form, with links at the end of each paragraph. Really dive into detail on the gun, read my editing sticky for suggestions, and check out the twwo TM beta spets reviews for more inspiration.

Max, I hate to bring this up,but didn't you say your gun broke? If thats the case, it should certainly be noted here.

Stuff to throw out there that might help with your review.  I have a W.I.P. review here: http://bpd35.proboards37.com/index.cgi?board=tech&action=display&thread=1161358035

I didn't post it here because I don't think I have enough AEG experience to write for your audience.  I'm going to put new pictures and finish the review when I skirmish with it one more time.

My JG AK Beta is pretty nice.  I had to hammer on the bushings more than I would have liked to put them in.  I also re-shimmed it, the stock shimming was crap but most of the internals look good.

I think I messed up my selector plate a little taking it off because it has issues on semi now.  They don't happen that often but every once in awhile it goes into a short full auto burst or goes to safe.

The stock shorty 250 round mag works nicely on mine with no feed problems and feeds almost of the mag if you wind it up all the way.  It also has a winding key that nicer to use than just the bottom dial.

Mine coke can chronoed at shooting through both sides of multiple coke cans but only chrono at 307 ave. and 311 max.  Are you guys that did the Coke Can chrono article sure you got 340 shooting through both sides?

Externals are nice but only has one arsenal mark and no other numbers or anything else  (i've seen some CYMA's that have nice markings as comparison).

The box also had a nice touch with the Beta symbol in the stryofoam.  The rest of the manuals and such seem to be copies of the TM stuff even.

So far I'm really happy with it.

Just a couple suggestions/questions.

On wiring, it's copper strands, not brass strings.

Also, you said the flash hider is removable. Is it CW or CCW? TM compatable? Maybe add a pic of it removed?

Otherwise, it convinced me to buy it.
Thanks
