i can hold the rifle whatever way the situation calls for, but personally, i did the chicken wing before i officially learned how to shoot, and when i officially learned how to shoot and earned pro marksman, i learned the chicken wing, and it came naturally. for me, it's the natural way to shoot a rifle, and it works best for me. i've had a guy tell me to put my elbow down, and i just had the urge to tell him that i probably have learned and done more shooting than he had (he was a little noobish). personally i thought i had earned that right. i know how to shoot, and although some airsofters do not use the chicken wing, all actual rifle shooters i have seen use it.
