Spelling and Grammar issues
« on: February 17, 2006, 09:21:16 PM »

Not only on the new forum have I noticed this but on the old one and even this one. People just don't like to use proper typing skills and other things of the sort. I'm not saying you mods should edit each persons post and fix it. I'm saying you should include rules and some warnings about spelling and grammar just to make people start thinking why they aren't typing the right ways.

Typing "lol" or other things like that don't annoy me. But when you have a whole page paragraph with no periods or anything THAT annoys me. When people expect to get respect and they type like that it lowers their appearence and other factors that make them look unprofessional and of the sorts. Typing without proper grammar usually gives the impression of a "kid" which is usually wrongly characterized as an immature person who runs around in the streets with toy guns and killing airsoft.

Now, I am seeing this is turning into more of a rant of me in a bad mood for some reason. I'll just keep going to make my point clear.

The worst part is it isn't always the "kids" who are the idiots. It is the 16-21 year olds who have cars and drive around and shoot people with their paintball guns and airsoft guns while doing illegal activities. Usually the "kids" worst crime is running around in the street with a gun when they are ten and cops aren't going to believe 4 ten year old kids have access to SMGs and heavy weapons and are runnning around shooting eachother in the middle of the street with them. Usually once the cops see them they will pull out their guns in case of them actually having a real SMG but only if he fears for his own safety that he will fire.

Wow did I really just start talking about this.

Ok back on subject. I seem to have a high percentage of ADD today.

Just saying watch out for that bad grammar and if you ever want someone to patrol grammar I would gladly help. Just give me a custom title and I'll post the links in the forum feedback part and it would work.

Well we could leave the custom title out of this but I mean what would be the point you know.....

unfortunately this is the internet and correcting all the grammar out there--even in our little corner of the internet that we call ASR is practically impossible. it's a nice thought, i've thought it several times myself, but unfortunately it would be incredibly hard to enforce grammar rules or correct all the errors in any given thread.

this is not a discussion forum, specter... this is the second post you've replied to in feedback and abuse.

Eh didn't know you couldn't reply to posts here.

If it won't work thats fine. But at least when you find a topic that has bad grammar and another infraction of the sort just add the little part about keeping grammar good.
