When I bought the SRC in October, it had many manufacturer defects.  I sent it back, they made it worse, and then I gave it to my local JungleToy for 3 months.  Most problems have been fixed except for one.  When I shoot the gun, the BBs seem to hop up a little and then drop down about 50 or so feet later.  I compared this gun to my stock Marui G36C, and the Marui shoots a whole lot farther and faster than the M4 does. (Supposedly, SRC stock=320fps, Marui stock=285fps).  The manager of the JungleToy I went to just re-built the hop-up unit, because he thought that was causing the problem.  Now I'm getting no range with the gun and the accuracy is spreaded.  If anybody knows how to help, it would be greatly appreciated.  And by the way, I'm using a stock SRC 8.4v 1600mAh Ni-MH battery in the gun.  This shouldn't be the problem, as I also have 2 custom batteries of the same mAh and voltage.

sound more like the hop up is the problem. check out the nubbing in the hop up. if it's a guarder hop up, trash the bead and use the original one.
your problem seems like hop up, try replacing a new one see if the problem still persist.

i had this same problem but i fixed it by taking the spring off the front of the hop up unit (the one facing forward.) it seemed to fix it.

That spring just pushes the hop up and barrel towards the air nozzle for better contact. But the barrel is tight with the outer barrel that it doesn't really matter on my SRC M4.

Hey, what up, Tigerman!  Funny I found one of your posts!  Are you still using the stock SRC hop-up bucking?  Because that stuff is absolutely terrible; I'm serious.  It's too stiff and too smooth to get a good catch on the BBs.  Get online and buy some Guarder hop up packing, it works just as good as Marui's.  I put one in Kirt's SRC and it made a WORLD of difference.  (The BB's float, like they should, now.)  Most retailers are selling it for five bucks... heck, I'd buy a couple of them if I were you.

I don't especially like the SRC hop-up unit, either, but it will should still at least work.  As far as the velocity issue goes, I'd say you're either having an airflow issue, or the spring was left compressed accidentally while it was in for repairs.  Yea, Kirt's gun is a BEAST now... I'm not a huge fan of SRC, but I have found that you CAN turn one into a pretty dang good firearm after some customization.  I'll take a look at it if you want me to; you know how to contact me.  Peace.

Thanks, but I'll probably put it on eBay next week for a starting price of around $100, for experienced repairmen/collectors to buy, not the average newb.  I took pictures and wrote descriptions the evening after I got home the last time we were at the store, and until today, certain obstacles have kept me from being able to put it up for auction.  I figure JungleToy had the problem gun for 3 months and Duran couldn't fix it, so I've given up hope on this one.  I plan to sell it, the batteries, and the extra hicap in separate auctions to help fund my next project.  What is this project you might say?  Why, with the money, I want to buy one of the new CYMA AKs and upgrade the internals including spring, install an SRC barrel and SRC hopup (when SRC comes out with spare AK parts, because SRC parts are better than CYMA hopup/barrel).  I just hope JungleToy brings the price back down to $99, as it's now at $120!
