JLS FN2000 Stats
« on: August 27, 2007, 08:11:06 PM »

Hello again,
a friend and i were looking up on the JLS FN2000 recently and were wondering if it was a decent buy. Everything that we have read on it seems perfect but the range sounds terrible. Most Reviews say that it the gun shoots only 100 feet. is that true? Does anyone have a good idea as to how far it shoots from personal experience? thanks

M4 Tight Bore, CA 1 piece hop-up, and just about any part that fits in an M4/M16 V2 GB.

How sure are you that there are no internal upgradess for it ???

ya i know but my friend really likes the gun. is there a way that we can get a weaker spring and add a tightbore barrel? would those internal upgrades at least be out? because i think that the combination would give it distance.

Keep the stock spring. You dont want to be shooting below 300fps on any electric gun you plan on using as a primary.

like i said i do not know about this gun yet.

Then don't spread misinformation.

My F2000 has a tight bore, stock internals (reshimmed), and a Guarder bucking.

I easily get 150-175' range at 345 FPS.

F2000, FN2000, yes that gun.

Yes, I'm sure I'm going past 150'. Not head shots, mind you, but solid torso hits consistently.

Why would you wash the bucking?

There's a fairly complete thread full of information regarding this gun. As far as mine, it's all stock and has lasted me fairly well. Why would you drop in a weaker spring (unless there's an FPS regulation) and a tightbore? Just drop in the tightbore and leave the spring be.

There is no real steel FN2000.

FN is the company that makes it. The versions are F2000 (military/law enforcement) and FS2000 (civilian).

I assume the S in FS2000 stands for semi auto or single shot.

keep in mind that this is a CQB weapon, so it isn't normally going to have an exceptional range, and probably shouldn't.

/\ /\ /\ /\ /\

Pay no attention to the misinformation passed on by those who are utterly clueless on this gun, like him.

This is a compact gun, compared to an M4, AUG, or AK, but by no means is it a CQB only gun.

The barrel length is the same as my M4, so unless you consider the M4 a CQB weapon, STHU.

joey, drop a tightbore, madbull, and a firefly hop up, or element works too if tom doesnt want to spend too much $$. for fps, better compression is all, get it up to 330-350 and it should have optimum mix btwn good range, accuracy, and fps

Sparky, I was under the impression that JLS wasn't that great.  How are the internals holding up, and are there any problems with this gun?  (I'm actually more interested in the SCAR, but if this one's good, I might rethink my anti-fish-gun stance...)

My internals are holding up just fine. I left everything stock, just reshimmed the GB and added a TB. I wrapped the hop-up with some teflon tape, but didn't notice much, if any, difference.

I would have done a full blown review, but I have a HUGE aversion to "Content Link", so until Admin gets rid of it, I avoid all areas of ASR that use it, including the gallery and classifieds.

JLS isn't JG or AGM quality, but for the price, it ain't that bad.
At least the GB is easy to work on.

You realize that once you publish it up in Pre-Pub, you don't actually have to deal with the review database?  Once I mark it RTP, Cheesehead publishes it.  I'd love to see a review of this bad boy.
