you probably didnt put the trigger assembly together right or the selector plate. thats why i hate v.3 gearboxes. the trigger assemblys are in multiple peices and its a pain in the butt to put it back together.

Hammer's got it right - pretty sure its your selector plate if you didn't open up the gearbox.

Just to clarify, did you take your gearbox out of the gun completely (but didn't open it) or did you take it you just break your gun down to the gearbox in the lower pistol grip/receiver area?

If you pulled your gearbox out of the lower half of the AEG, then you’ve probably misaligned the selector plate.

I’d put the selector switch in semi-automatic, and then drop the gearbox back into the lower receiver.

i too agree that its the selector plate. i hate them on V3's. the whole trigger mech is a disaster so if you ever do open her up be careful around that lil guy.

yeah the most dreadful part is putting it back together....
if your not careful the whole trigger assembly falls out, and you have to do it all over again. the only reason why i like version 3s are that they actually have spring guides that HOLDS the spring down vs a Version 2 which just flys every where if your not careful.

i have taken the gearbox out of the pistol grip. it worked outside of the pistol grip just fine like it was brand new, but when i reassembled the whole lower assembly(pistol grip, selector switch etc.) it crapped out again. does this bring any new insight on my issue? i might try sanding down the inside of the pistol grip a little bit because i think the wires may be getting pinched.

See if you can jimmy the wires around. Most likely its some pressure on the wires that's moving the actual trigger contacts. That said, you have checked to make sure your selector plate is connecting fine?
