Wouldn't it be any non-dumb sniper? You would have to be really retarded to just sit there and use your gun as a sound beacon to say "Hi Guyz, sup? Let's have a tea party over at my ghillie house!

You'd be surprised how many people this represents.  Roughly 90 percent of the snipers I have played against stay in one spot firing for far too long.  There are a hugely disproportionate number of people who just don't understand how to play the role very well.

A lot of times you can flank the sniper. Most gas snipers have a small number of rounds in one magazine, and some are springers that have to be cocked.

i've seen two effective methods,

A. if you have a respawn point, don't get pinned down for an hour. take the out and come back, you'll know where he is.

B. Do what i saw a team do in tennesse one time, twelve of us rushed two snipers, most of the time they have a MED and if you get too close they can't fire,
Also with that is the fact that snipers fire kinda slow most of the time, so if you charge a sniper 9 times out of ten you'll win.

EDITED TO ADD

i mean charge them with a squad of guys, not by yourself just to clarify. it's very affective in airsoft.

Doesn't work too well if the snipers gun has the capability of full auto  ;D. Like my AUG. Mostly used in semi on a high torque setting. But can go full auto if necessary.

exactly. and all you have to do is get into a range that violates their MED and they'll normally surrendor or try to move.

I would like to point out that carrying a sniper to counter snipe is not really a practical solution. I mean carrying a sniper on your back is going to make it hard for you to move around, and will make it harder to hide in cover.

Flank the sniper. Use leap frogging to advance. Listen carefully, if you hear the sniper shoot youve got 2-3 seconds to move somewhere else safely.

im nto one to jump on the bandwagon here, but from what ive seen and done myself, just overpower the sniper with your AEGs and flank and or rush him. of course there is always a risk that he might have some sort of sidearm, but theoretically(not sure if i spelled that right) he shouldnt be able to take out several people.

assuming the sniper is above you someway. I would deploy a dm/sniper on the ground, and try to flank him out with a few rifle men, anything automatic i would suggest. Once he is forced to move a way(make sure to give him a way out that your sniper has a good view of) the sniper should be able to take care of him, but if for some reason night have one or two more rifle men to sandwich him.

you would want to use long barreled rifles that have a semi and full  auto. Here's a good list.

                      M14
                      M16A2,A3,A4
                      G3
                      SPR

LOL WUT?

I'm sorry, but I can hit a person at WAY past 135ft with most my AEG's, to say nothing of a sniper rifle.

But to answer the question, I prefer an M16 as a counter.
seriously, i can hit people at 250 on good days

Counter sniping, I usually use my thermal scope to find the snipers location. Once located, I would stalk and sneak up on the sniper using my cat like skills on stalking, zigzagging my way across the field of dreams. If the sniper is a good sniper, he wouldn't normally stay in one location therefore, he could end up flanking or ambushing me if I don't keep track of his movements. In the event that I do lose sight of him, as I creep to his location, I would then use my eye in the sky to acquire his 20.  Then when I'm close enough, I would use my brown eye to emit some diversionary gases created by the burrito from an earlier meal. And at last, while he's distracted by the odoriferous emanations, I will capture his flank and greet him with my MHUWAHAHAHA! Aep fire! That's all folks!

Get ready for strike two chump.

My view on countersniping is that the most practical way to deal with a sniper is not to beat him at his own game of long range fire, but to get close to him and take him out. That way he's most vulnerable.

I like to confuse the enemy sniper with 3 or 4 people on my team (we are all spread apart but some what close to each other). One of them pops up and does a short burst, then in about 15 seconds another guy pops up and shoots a short burst, then the third person usually pops up immediately after and does a full auto for 3 - 4 seconds, then the last person (usually me with a sniper rifle) just shoots whenever they have a chance. Since the sniper tries to fire at each person, he gets confused on who to shoot. Eventually, we get so close that the AEG's just hit the sniper.

^^That can be fixed by the sniper focusing on one target at a time, at least, it would seem so.

Why can't everyone just stand up and shoot? That way the concentrated amount of firepower would force the sniper's head down and the attackers can all just advance. If the shooters just stay in one spot and play the mole in whackamole with the sniper, all the sniper will have to do is just aim at one place he suspects the guy will pop up and nail him.

I personally, have 3 Snipers on my team, a DMR, SPR, and a Springer, the springer is a threat that NEEDS more that one person to take him out for 2 reasons
1.) He's got a TM VSR-10 with over 850$ PDI parts
2.) He's a former STA Marine, Surveillance and Target Acquisition

He's hard to take down.

I have gone in 10 1 on 1 matches and win 2/10, the logical choice is to not stop moving, they need to to get scopes dialed in on your position, and also need to lead you alot, and i have a AUG Phantom FULL upgraded gearbox.  The only time i get him is when i know where he is but he don't know where i am, team work is a must

Charging a sniper is very effective, unless he is a scout, and has his team a few yards behind him. Then, your open and exposed, and most likely disorganized. Doesn't happen often, but at a three-team event in my town, my team witnessed it. It taught them (my team) a very good lesson about snipers and bait.
