I have a JG MP5 Ras and I want to improve it's accuracy. I know I know, get a tb, .25 bee-bee's, etc. I want to hide a longer tb in something, but I'm not a fan of mock silencers, so I was thinking to get a longer outer barrel or a really long flashider. I only want the tb to be about 3 inches longer than it is, so I can still retain some cqb ability. Any ideas?

Barrel length has minute effect on accuracy.  If you're just increasing the barrel length by 3 inches, then the increase in accuracy will be barely noticable.  If you're increasing it by like a foot or 2, then the difference will be greater.

No, I don't think longer outer barrels are available for MP5s.  The JG MP5 has 14mm counter clockwise threads.  Any 14mm CCW flash hider will fit.

you could turn it into an HK94...but thats like 10inches.

+1 to the barrel length equation. Just get a prometheus 6.03, dee's 6.01, or some other high quality barrel, and stick a decent hop-up bucking on it. Maybe a big out h-hop. Although, Mp5 hop-ups tend to be lacking in general... I'm sure with a bit of work it could be accurate enough.

What Chicken failed to mention was the increase in FPS. A longer barrel means more FPS, and while 3 inches may not seem like alot, it still boosts the MP5 length barrel by a good 30% or so. What I am NOT saying is that your gun will have 30% more FPS, but it will have a bit more. In combination with a tightbore, I would estimate 20 fps gain (anybody wanna prove me wrong?).

Oh boy. I am NOT looking for more fps. My gun cronos at about 385 stock, (oh yeah, those chinese guns) 400 fps is tops for the place I play at. And I'm not about to go there (three hours away), crono my gun, and than them make me stick a velocity reducer that kills it to 240 fps. That would suck. I'm kinda kidding, kinda not.

Well, even a stock length tightbore will slightly increase the fps output, due to higher compression, but I'd think you'd still be under 400.

As for buckings, I usually just use Systemas, as they're cheap and usually work pretty good. Some like the Guarder clear buckings, but they seem hit or miss depending on the application.  Prometheus buckings are supposed to be awesome, but the one time I had one I happened to also have a faulty barrel, so I never reallly got to test it. I've also heard a few people say they caused feeding issues in their guns, so I guess that's hit or miss as well. Another one that's supposed to be good is the firefly bucking.

But like I said, Systema buckings are usually pretty good, and cheap.

Magneto, I am in agreement with you. Titan's MP5 will most likely remain under 400 fps, I think I exaggerated a little on the FPS increase...

Hey, first of all, thank you everyone who has taken interest in my questions and answered them. And like all questions, the answers lead to more questions. Hey, maybe you guys will teach me enough that I'll help some poor old noob sometime. Until them, back to questions.

Well you guys have got me thinking, If I'm going to replace my inner barrel with a systema or whatever, might as well increases the length a couple inches or so to get that "minute effect on accuracy" I appreciate all the links to longer flashhiders and such.

OOOOh, aaaaahhh, I love the P90 and anything that has to do with it! But do you think it's got  ccw 14mm threads? (and if not, how would I mount it?)

that's cool too, put for my mp5 to still retain it's cqb abilities, I can't through an extra foot on. Cool though.

This is what I was going to suggest. It was popular a couple years ago to add an M4 outer barrel to the end of full stock MP-5's. It ranged from plastic barrels sawed off spring M4's and added to UTG MP-5's to M4 barrel extensions on nicer AEG's and I even saw a few metal outer barrels welded on some metal body MP-5's. In any case if done right it really look good and was very unique. It would also give you just the extension you were looking for.
