There are some nice looking guns on this thread!

But just to add to what Cobra said, on BASR's (the VSR at least), I noticed that my FPS go up significantly the higher I increase my hopup, from about 572 FPS at the lowest setting and 656 at the 3/4 mark.  Interesting to note that my FPS drops down to 627 when I move the hopup to max.

I assume the FPS increases because it holds the BB in place and allows more pressure to build.  However, in my experience, it cuts off at 3/4 hop when the BB is held too tight and air is allowed to leak around it.

In an AEG I assume that this relationship doesn't work because the air nozzle has to move in and out of the hopup very fast, so consistent and quick loading is probably more important than perfect compression.  Correct me if I am wrong though, as my experience with AEG internals is "Minimal".
100% correct by my experiences as well. Its interesting that your Delta in FPS was 84 and in my VSR 10 the Delta is 60. I am wondering if there is a relationship between the delta and FPS? For example, does higher muzzle FPS bring about a greater FPS difference between 0 hop-up and maximum ideal hop-up? My rifle chrono's 500 FPS at the muzzle with 0.20g and maximum hop-up. I also think its interesting that your ideal hop-up was at 3/4 if the way. In my rifle, I believe that maximum FPS was obtained at max hop-up...but its been so long since I tested that, that now I think I will go back and do more testing to see if the FPS is greater around 3/4 hop-up.

I have 3 of them.. ROTFLMAO!
Uh oh, XM just raised the ante and took the cake! Sorry bro  :P

XM, just wondering, shouldn't your OD painted scope be on your OD ASGI R700?  Or do you prefer the Elcan scope more?

Anyways, your guns look awesome!  And I agree with Archer, when are we going to see the "Xavier Mace's Airsoft Arsenal" store?  :)

That's not a red-dot, that's an Elcan.

That scope actually gets moved around a bit.

Hey XM, what kind of range and accuracy are you getting out of the ICS M16? It would be sweet if you could post a full pic of it!

I haven't tested it since I put the PDI barrel in it.  The upper needs to be rebuilt once I find a sufficiently silly replacement for the MS190 spring that was in it.

XM I've heard Gaurder makes good high powered springs such as the SP170, but at that point, all high powered springs wear out easily.

Yeah, that's what I currently have.  It's not strong enough.

Edit:  For those of you who were asking, there's more pictures of the ICS in my ICS Guide over in AEG discussion.  You can find more pictures of everything else on photos.xaviermace.com

Errr, actually I think XM's M16 is way better looking. He has more modifications done externally which really sets it apart. Its not like you have the only SR 12 with a scope, bi-pod, and barrel extension  :P

and in its current state:

I'm pretty low on sniper type rifles. I only have my polished race rifle, and my scout rifle, neither of which are really sniper rifles.

Hey XM, think you got enough airsoft guns?  Those things look like monsters, and judging by some of your previous work, I bet they perform exceptionally as well.

I really need to get around to posting my rifle on here....

XM, that first rifle, I just wanted to take the outer barrel to a wall like a baseball bat. Other than that good job.
