I am curious as to the method of everyone's target acquisition techniques? I was just curious what do you guys prefer? Iron sights, red dot, scopes? Lasers, flashlights?

Also those with M203's, do you use leaf sights?

I've tried to use my AK's iron sights, but I've found I can shoot much more accuratley just by pointing and shooting. Only reason I would see the use of optics necessary is with a DMR that has a great consistency/range that allows you to sucessfully aim with a zeroed in scope.

I like a nice red dot on a standerd powered aeg, can't beat the wide field of view and quick target aquisition.

Prefer aimpoint all the way. With our distances for AEG's you really don't NEED magnification, you can sight pretty well with just a zero'd in red dot even for single fire max distance shots. Then of course it works great for quick acquisition too, better than iron sights.

203 lol, I had one for a while but there was no aiming to it for me. It had such a damn spread all I had to do was fire in front of me, plus I've never used the nerf rounds as it was heavily rumored here that they mostly suck anyway.

RDS. Most guns don't need the range/magnification of a scope, and the RDS aims a lot better than an iron sight.

I have a M4 with M203 and Aim Point and I ALWAYS use my back up iron sights - this is my real one from the Army, but I also use this setup for airsoft

If you use a scope like an Aim Point or ANY red dot have back up iron sights, trust me. I was on a range qualifying, my Aim Point battery died and I had my iron sights up just incase, I kept shooting targets. It works on airsoft too

I tend to walk my BB's to the target with my m249, but when using my M4 I like to use my ACM 551 replica. My buddy has a 203 with a leaf sight, its just for show mainly lol.

I LOVED my old 552 HWS from UHC (God I miss that thing) but lately I find my self drawn to Iron sights or all kinds. except my E1 P90 ones.........ewwwww.

Aimpoint for sub 200ft shots and 4x ACOG past that. We don't have enough range for scopes to be practical unless you're a spotter.

I've never been able to use iron sights. Always tried when I first got my M4 but they're horribly difficult to use effectively.

Since the method of target acquisition was also in the question, I shoot with two eyes. Left has peripheral vision and tracks the target, right just focuses on where the red dot is. For an ACOG I shoot with just my right.

When I get the KWA SR10 I think I'm going to try an EOTech 552 replica.

I've found the best for me is a low magnification scope.

I have a ZOS 1.25-4.5x scope that's something of an S&B look-a-like. I usually keep it around the 1.25x to 2x settings. I only use 4x if I really need it.

But I also have an aimpoint replica that is very effective.

I like something that I can see the target through if I have to use some hold over.

I usually eyeball my shots, unless i am setting up an ambush or shooting from far away. then i use my iron sights

Just kidding. But in all seriousness, I use my ACM 551 with Aimpoint 3x magnifier on a Flip-to-side mount. Setup is incredibly effective.

I use my iron sights on my ICS MP5 and they work fine for me. Now, if I had a little more cash then I would probably get a rail and put a red dot scope on there. The only instance I would use a magnifying scope is either on a sniper rifle that can punch out past 180 feet or a nice DMR that is able to punch out to,again, past 180 feet.

Don't get me wrong i love using Iron sights and i usually do but most of the time I enjoy using a red dot or non illuminated cross-hair scope as my choice of optic. The only scopes i like are the adj. power scopes though. I love the ACOG look on the M4 but it doesn't look right on other guns as much as say an EOTech. I wish there was a quality company that produced quality EOTech replicas for reasonable prices.

I simply LOVE the look of the ACOG 4x, and with a nice, little red dot on top, you have the ultimate sight for an armalite in my opinion.

Honestly that 3x magnifier is fugly lol, and only looks good w/ AP's. The square EOTech magnifier looks better

I really like the scope I put on my AUG. It is a 2.5x32. It sure is nice to watch people get hit with a single bb through my scope. I agree with the others though, on a stock mid- powered AEG, I like red dots.
