No. A 12oz coke can. I don't get what's with all the inaccurate guns.
I was at an op and was CO of a squad of new guys I didn't know. We could see an enemy squad in the distance and I wanted to make sure I had a squad mate who could engage with me using precision fire, once they came within about 120ft (while the rest used laid down suppressive fire). I asked my squad who had a good effective range and a guy with an M16 raised his hand. I asked him what kind of range he had and he said 75. I said, "yards?" He said, "feet." I laughed and decided I'd take care of precision fire on my own as I wasn't about to ambush a squad at 75ft from mine. Too risky.
Any AEG should be able to hit a coke can at 100ft more than 50% of the time and should have a torso effective range at least around 150ft with no wind. A good stock pistol can hit a coke can 9 for 10 times at 60ft. AEGs should be far beyond that. I don't mean to sound insulting to those with guns that can't do that but if your gun can't it might be time to put some more money into it.
A guy's E1 P90 that I just finished working on will hit a coke can 9 for 10 at 95ft.
My M4 with a standard M4 length barrel will hit a 10" telephone pole 10 for 10 at 180ft with wind under 2mph.
Frogman, get one of these when KWA restocks them: http://www.airsoftretreat.com/forums/index.php?topic=79571.0
That's my review of the KWA 2G bucking. Your 8" spread should narrow down to about 4-5" if not better. Also clean your barrel. It just seems weird to me that you've got a 300mm barrel doing groupings that loose.
