Use an unjamming rod. One should've come with the gun.

Pull the bolt back and hold it, then push the jam out.

To disassemble the gun start taking out the screws. Just remember where they all go!

Took it apart and fixed problem, it was not the barrel but a gunk clog in  hop up now in the proses of reassembling it.

My friend is having an issue accessing the part of the TSD M14 where the spring resides.  He wants to measure the spring to get a better one so that I can use it as my Battle Rifle in Airsoft games, and also so I can make the standard annoying fat kid go "WAAAAAAAAH THAT HURT!", because he's a girly man.

How much has your friend taken down so far?  It shouldn't be that far into the gun regardless.  Remove the rails, remove a few body screws, and then that should be it, should it not?

The hardest part (when I owned a TSD m14) was taking apart the rear sight, allowing the clamshell body to come apart. The screws stripped on mine, so I had to use other means to remove the back sight  ;D

Also, all plastic internals, so not much upgrade potential. What I would recommend if your friend is crafty is to find and cover up all air leaks, using the teflon or E-tape mod (easily found in snipers perch). And if you really know what your doing, possibly retrofitting an AEG or VSR hop-up unit in the M14, because in my experience the stock hop-up was good for a springer, but could be better if it was metal and had better tolerances.

I had serious fps loss issues with my TSD M14, tried taking it apart to do some teflon modding, and stripped probably every single one of those stupid cheap chinese screws. Great gun for the first week I had it, but it all went downhill from there. Anyways, glad you fixed yours.

Get new screws, or fill the holes with super glue/epoxy. The screws will have more to bite into.

I had to cut around mine. Back in the old days when me and my friends all had springers I teflon taped my M14 and fitted a Bar-10 barrel in it with a new bucking. It could easily hit targets past 160 feet.
