So I'm really into shotguns and I can't decide which one to get. what I want is one that won't break easily, accurate, but also strong so it can shoot from far away ish (100 feet+). I'm not interested in a sniper or an AEG, so yeah. The gun's main use would be target shooting. Maybe once a month, it would be taken to a skirmish, but not often. Is there anything in my price range that fits the description (accurate, durable, target shooter, springer-only skirmishable, non gas powered) Also in your post include what size bb to use and any other info/problems you'd like to share.

Looking for multi-shot or single shot?

If single shot, look at the E1/CAW M1014, CA870, etc.

Multi, jump into a UTG/TSD/DE M3/M1014.

You guys need to get the TSD Super sport shotgun. (folding, full, or pistol drip available)

It shoots 380fps and can use .20g - .28g very nicely. The hopup works really well, and it's freaking amazing for $35 bucks. It comes with 4 x 30 round shells. (Normally $14 for 6 x 30 round shells)

Very good deal IMHO. Single shot, but deadly accurate and reliable.

^ lol I have two, and I convinced a friend to get one as well. They are indeed amazing, and a VERY good deal.
My only complaint is the shell holder, which I don't use.

big no no

tri shot are not easy to upgrade and if messed with, break easily.

I have a hardware guide in the Pre-Pub section...for some reason it never got pubbed XD.

Upgrade parts are very rare nowadays (PDI, ANGS, and KM all made upgrade parts, but they're all discontinued), and most of them apply to SPAS12's only, not M3's.

^If a trishot breaks, you get a new trishot. That's pretty much how it is. Replacement parts are next to nonexistent, and like others have said, you just don't open them. Pretty much, if it breaks, you just go buy a new one.

Yeah, I've been inside my trishot.  You don't want to go there.  It broke because I overtightened one screw, so the hop-up fell apart, and several springs went missing.  Naturally, it became a wall hanger after that.

I have since managed to fix it, but I had to gut several retractable pens and mechanical pencils to replace missing springs.  Also, mine can never come apart again because I had to super glue the hop-up back together; I almost bonded some of the moving parts together in the process.  It was not pretty.

Even though I got mine working again, I don't believe every trishot will break the same way.  Booligan's right, that if you try doing anything to them, you're better off buying a new gun.

NVM, that's a 1892 lol. You mean the Trenchgun right? Maybe Tanaka/Marushin/Maruzen made one.

EDIT: Tanaka made one.

Yes, it has been a while...school's crazy...

If you've got the patience, you could do what I did here, although mine was modeled more on a Remington 870-ish thing.  I don't know how you would recreate the external hammer on the 1897 though.

It started out as a UTG M3 Shorty.  I think now it's somewhere between a Remington 870, a Mossberg 500, and a Benelli M1; eventually I'll get it into the shape I want.

^ Nickname: The Firefighter.  Because it looks melted.

It looks really cool, good work.  Shotgun modifications top the list of honorable things in airsoft, since 99 percent of them are DIY (aside from grenade launcher mods, those are pretty hard too.)

^^ Thanks, I hope to eventually smooth out the melted look, but because I don't have a dremel yet, I did as much as I could by hand with various files, rasps, and improvised sanding blocks.

The tri shot wasn't THAT bad to open, I was able to fix mine after a friend decided to use .12g since he wanted it to shoot faster (pissed me off to no end). It certainly was complex, but nothing unmanageable, all the same as any shell fed pump, until you get to the hopup.

Doughboy: I don't know too much about heat shields on a M3, haven't done it myself. Try looking at other spring shotguns that have metal heat shields on them, usually these guns are around 30 or so, i Believe the CSI M500 has a heatshield that may fit the M3, but it may be too long. I am not positive. You could always modify the heat shield as well to fit. That would prbly be your cheapest route, maybe you could Real steel? Good luck
