Stripped Screw
« on: May 29, 2009, 08:21:31 PM »

I have a BAR-10 that I got a couple months back and it's still stock. Great rifle by the way, but I stripped the allen screw that holds the receiver to the stock. I tried super gluing the allen key to the stripped screw and twisting but failed epically. I don't have access to a dremel and I have no clue how to get it out. I really want to do the airbrake mod and clean the internals, but I can't. Help?

Buy yourself the Grabit drill bit set.  Costs about $20 but they make up for it within their first use.  The bits will basically remove any stripped screw in seconds.

OH! I'm retarted. I didn't fully read the post. Yeah, what he said :P I have the set of three, and they have paid for themselves in one use. You'll love them.

I agree. The grabit drill bits are extremely useful. In fact, they should be a common household item because they are so useful...

Or, I you have a drill and drill bit you can drill it out.
Just drill till you are through the entire screw head. then you can pull it apart and finish getting the screw out with a pliers.

You could do this, but unless you are careful you could get yourself into trouble... *recalls bad memory involving a stripped screw*
