Ok, so I'm looking for some feedback about this gametype to see if others think it is a viable gametype, or if has already been created by someone else by a different name. To the point, the game. I base this on a game that we played in P.E. class in elementary school. lol. The
Star Wars
Objective: Eliminate the enemy team.
Teams: Even teams, however many people you desire. One "medic" per team. The reason this game is called star wars is because the medics we called Luke and Leia in our P.E. games. Don't ask me why.
Rules: Each team starts on one side of the map. On the signal, both teams start. The goal is to eliminate the enemy. There is no limit to where you are "safe" and where you are "in danger" like in CTF. There is no half-line either. Go wherever you please. If you are hit, you are down. That is where the medic comes into play. The medic may tag you back into the game. However, if the medic is hit, the medic is down for good, therefore, the players on your team cannot be tagged back in. Once you entire team is eliminated you lose the game.
Strategy: Obviously, protect the medic, and obviously, devote your resources to killing the medic. Don't stray so far away so the medic will be endangered to come and tag you back in. If you are behind enemy lines, the medic isn't coming to get you. lol.
I could go into it much more, but I didn't want to be too long winded. If anyone has any thoughts or commentson the game, what I could change about it, or anything else about it, I would be glad to hear them.

How is this like star wars at all?? I played that game in elementary school too, and it was more of a cross between dodgeball and basketball

I know the dodgeball part, I have no idea about the basketball part? I'm curious how you played and how the dodgeball part plays in. I guess you could say the bb's are like the balls. Also, it would be more like star wars if I made the teams stay on their halves, but I figured I would add some intrigue by eliminating "sides". And yes, it is essentially force v force with medics, by a different name though, and I think with slightly different rules.

The same concept has been used in airsoft games yes. In fact, that's the basic format for all games concerning medics. Bottom line is that they are the most valuable members of the team and the focus of those games revolve around protecting your own medic while hunting down the other. I must commend you though for your...unique title of the thread. Certainly grabbed my attention as to how star wars has anything to do with airsoft.

mmm I like cinamon roles. I wish I had a team of those. For our homeland. Until the very last man. Our duty is to stop the enemy right here. Do not expect to return home alive.

Well thanks for the comment about the title! And I had never played a medic based game before. I just play with about 10 of my friends, but we are looking to go big, or at least bigger! Perhaps I should introduce this style of play into some of our games. Seems like fun. It should at least bring some variety into some of our more boring game types.

one idea though, instead of the medics staying out let them respawn but just not be the medic

This title is so misleading... This is dodgeball where medics wear bright yellow vests. When you mentioned "Star Wars", I was trying to wrap my head around carrying a light-saber to a skirmish and doing a knife kill, lol

I kind of want to do that, just so I can randomly flail about attempting to block incoming BBs. You know, since "gun" hits don't count where I play

Been done, and I've seen worse. Now that the OP is aware that medic games are not something new, I see no reason for this thread to continue since it really has nothing to do with Star Wars. Locked. XavierMace
