Light Warfare
« on: July 06, 2010, 12:19:00 AM »

since azn posted that "Cardboard Warfare" video, I thought I'd put up "Light Warfare."

Dunno if it's the same guys, but the video is awesome, plus I believe it's the same guys who made "Frozen Crossing."

Too lazy to do a host thing so here's a link.

I want that Mini Gun BAD

EDIT: What do you know, it did the host thing by itself. Technology is amazing.

Ahh yes I've seen this. Yeah I think it's the same guys.

OH and these guys also posted up another video of some random action sequence. Unfortunately I'm on my smart phone so I can't provide a link.

I think it's called like Freeze Frame or Time Freeze or some time thing like that. It's really pretty cool. You should post that up too.

I knew what you were talking about.

This one is even better than all of his work, IMHO

Ahh Chrono Trigger, that's it. I knew it had to do with something about time. lol.

This one's pretty cool. Only complaint is those wooden stairs and pallet probably aren't gonna stop bullets. Kinda unrealistic.

Then again, he is bending time.

That second was epic.
Funny, short, and riddled with violence. All the necessary ingredients for a short film that Hollywood can't even seem to pull off anymore. :P

The light thing was a bit stupid for my taste. Perhaps if the gun were shaped less like cartoon drawings maybe...
However the second video was pretty good. Not only was the effects phenomenal, the maneuvers were quite impressive.

Looks so much better when you actually know what "after effects" you're using.

Wish I could do movie editing, but not really into that kind of thing XD.

The guy actually does a demo on how to make muzzle flashes. It's actually simpler than I thought, he just gets a flash and smoke animation off of google, and then just brightens the places around the flash to make it look real. He did it in only a few seconds, it was amazing.

MORE MOVIES :D

Hah the guy is epic.

For chrono trigger, I checked out the behind the scenes, and he says he trys not to have the camera shaking. Lol, he says the camera shake thing is sooo bad. That is absolutely correct. I HATE the camera shake films, and his is good because, since the camera isn't shaking, you can actually see what's going on.

I think it's only good for sequences that you've already seen, and can grasp what's going on. When it's in a car chase or something, and the environment is constantly changing, it gets annoying.

Read: Bourne trilogy.  The first one was AMAZING.  If the second and third weren't directed by the ridiculous Paul Greengrass and his shaky cam.....they would have been ok too.

That Chrono Trigger video is cool, but I've noticed that they struggle with continuity issues in their videos.

In this video, the S-System he picks up starts off with a red dot sight when the enemy is carrying it, but after the main character grabs it, it has no sight. Additionally, if you watch closely when he rolls for the gun, you'll see that he's not picking up an S-System. The front triangle sight and carry handle can be seen clearly as he rolls, and once he's up against the stairs, it changes back to the S-System.
