It looks like it might need a special tool because of that angled cut on the face of the cylinder head.  I know Laylax makes a special wrench to tighten their own Laylax cylinderheads for bolt action rifles, but their wrenches won't fit PDI cylinder heads.  Additionally, I already asked PDI (directly on their Xfire website) if they sell a tool to tighten their cylinder heads, but I didn't receive a response.

you can just use a pair of pliers to grip the relief edges (there's a symmetric edge behind the nozzle that the picture hides). That's what i use. Or you could use a wrench that's got the correct size of opening.

Yeah it doesn't look like those parallel cut things really function for anything other than grip, so don't be afraid to use some pliers. Might not make it look pretty or new, but it'll get the job done.

I still don't understand why they won't use hex shaped holes instead of that stupid recessed edge..

I gotta say, that picture really makes me wanna buy one of those cylinder heads. Too bad I don't have a vsr. Stupid well made advertisement!
