ASR's Gift for the forum:an Off Topic Thread
« on: December 24, 2010, 12:37:31 PM »

As anyone who has spent any time at all here at ASR knows, we don't have an 'off topic' section as such sections have not had a lot of success here at ASR in the past.   In fact, I was one of moderators that shut down the off topic section around a decade ago (crap-- has it really been that long already?).  Since then, our moderators have fairly aggressively shut down any thread with the faintest hint of subject matter not directly pertaining to airsoft.

I talked it over with the current crew of moderators and we thought we'd try something new this holiday season to see how it was handled by you folks: an Open Discussion Thread.   In this thread all the normal 'mind your manners and don't break any laws' rules apply but you're free to discuss whatever topics come to mind--- you are not limited to just airsoft (of course-- airsoft discussions should be conducted in their appropriate sections) .   Open discussion is limited to THIS thread only, don't let this discussion bleed over into other threads.

So welcome to the one outlet for Off Topic discussion here at ASR.

Range hot. Weapons free.

Merry Christmas, Joyful Solstice or Happy Holiday of your choice.

Enjoy this gift responsibly.

If cowboys still carried revolvers and lever action rifles, I would choose that as my profession. Screw college.

mixed with arsenic. It's the only thing that quenches his thirst nowadays. Washed down with blood scraped off of the banhammer.

So-- I've been on a Rescue Me marathon since a couple weeks ago.  just wrapping up season 5 today.  It's okay but not great.   Love that theme song though.   Reminds me of my younger days-- sounds like the kind of rock and roll they played at bars I hung out at back when I was young and doing stupid stuff.

I hate arrested development, i never made it past the first season. But the office grew on my over time, it seems to fit in with my sense of humor.

Dexter is great.

Deadwood was awesome.  I will never forgive David Milch for abandoning the project to produce that abortion John from Cincinnati.  I think Mr Milch is owed a cock punch a day for a year.

Walking Dead is as bad as Stargate Universe. Basicallly a group of wandering ppl trying to survive on nothing. At least in Walking Dead it makes sense that they can still find bullets. Idk where you get Earth bullets in space.

Burn notice is terrible, like all other USA shows. It portrays the quintessential spy retard, and is nothing but tacky. Bruce cambell aint got nothing on Jason Bourne or hell even james fricken bond

Burn notice is 'great' like hot dogs are great.

It is food, and has it's place but I could probably die never having had it and not have missed anything.

+1  Human Target has one interesting character.  The rest are white bread cookie cutter characters which have been done better elsewhere.
