TSD/ICS CXP. 08 Airsoft review.

This review is of the TSD/ICS CXP. 08 concept rifle.
First off, we’ll start with the opening thing you see, the packaging.
The box is made of cardboard with graphics of the rifle along with safety precautions, specs of the gun and more. Once you open the box you will find your Team SD Airsoft warranty policy paper, safety papers and your ICS CXP. 08 owner’s manual. In the owner’s manual you will find there are several different languages to read from, on top of that it shows you the following;
• How to properly carry a Airsoft gun in public,
• An inventory list,
• How to put together your battery pack (which we will go into further detail later),
• How to adjust you iron sights,
• A list of moving parts on the shell and lastly,
• How to disassemble you rifle.
Under all your paper work you will find ICS’s great looking packaging job. There is molded plastic to keep everything from moving around during shipping and when you are storing it in the box.
You’re ICS CXP. 08 comes with 2 hi-capacity 300 rd mags.
Also with it is 1,000 rounds of ICS 0.2g BB’s. There’re good quality BB’s but there not the best. I would recommend using TSD sport 0.20 BB’s. There’re in my opinion high quality BB’s, I hardly ever find creases on them. Creases can damage your gun by scraping the barrel when going down, there is a bigger chance of is shattering in the barrel, it increases jams and more. You can purchase TSD bb’s at their web site(www.airsoftsd.com) and at select retailers. On your handguards, there are three separate picatinny rails that allow you mount lasers, flashlights and other accessories.
One plastic battery container that is held together by 2 plastic caps that twist on. The battery container clips on to one of your picatinny rails, the down side to that is that it takes up one of you rails and has the chance to get wet and. The screws that come with the container don’t seem to screw on all the way going on your rail. It won’t damage your gun, it just wobbles all around when you are walking/running.
And last but not least, a cleaning/dejaming rod.
The ICS CXP. 08 sample delivered does NOT come with batteries. Nor does the factory CXP. 08 I got TSD Intellect 9.6v 2000mAh Nunchuck Battery They are powerful, long lasting and durable.
Now to the gun. The Immediate thing you will notice is the weight. For as small as it is, it weighs a whopping 5.95 pounds! The feet per second is 395 with 0.2g BB’s! And it fires 920 rounds per minute with a 9.6V Battery! You have semi-auto, full-auto and safe modes. The safe mode is very solid, which makes you and everybody else around you feel safe. The CXP. 08 has a collapsible stock that has notches on the collapsible part so when pushed, it slides forwards and backwards to your personal desire of length.

On the buffer tube there is a rear sling post. I personally don’t used slings, I find them to be cumbersome occasionally when you’re in a field playing Airsoft.
The hole sight system is attached to picatinny rails, so if you wanted to you could take it off and put a optic or some sort of sight on it. Or, since the sights run down the majority of the rifle you could keep the iron sights and put an optic on top of them and keep the iron sights BUIS (back up iron sights).
Now to the battery compartment.
The handguard slides off by unscrewing your front sling post. By doing so you can either stuff your batteries in the handguards or use the external battery compartment. Just make sure you get compact batteries, the set I got did not fit inside. The batteries that I got did not fit inside the handguard, so I have to use the external. The mags are high quality plastic that look and feel like they will last as long as you gun if you take good care of them. The Construction of the outside is full metal, not one signal part that I see is plastic or any other material.
Let’s move internal now. All the gears are metal, not plastic, There’re made of ICS’s 2pc Split Design, w/M120 Spring. I think that is the most important thing now in Airsoft rifles is to have metal gears. When gears break, either you replace one or replace them all. I’m not saying that metal gears will never break but it’s less likely to. The hop-up is adjustable to your liking. A hop-up is like a turbo charger in a car is, it makes the car go faster. Same thing with an Airsoft gun, you can adjust the hop-up to make it the BB faster, straighter and more accurate. More and more airsoft guns have some sort of hop-up system. Some hop-up systems are fixed which mean they only have one setting. Usually fixed hop-up’s are triggered with a certain weight BB. For example the UA 961 SH by UHC is fixed to a .12 gram BB for higher felicity. The mags kind of sticks in the magwell so, I would grease the magwell with some sort of lube to make it smoother. The gun is very reliable and effective, and if you’re looking for a high quality AEG, I would definitely recommend this one to all airsofters.

Yes I'm British.
I got this gun from a mate, never let him down and never let me down, perfect for where I go 'softing proper CQB Smile. Can't find a RIS or RAS rail to put on it, apart from that really good.

This is probably one of the nicest spring pistols out there. It's full metal, which gives it a nice heavy feel and weight. It has an working ejector port, which adds for realism, and it can also be used to unjam a BB that was fed wrong (Never have this problem).
It has Colt trademarks, on the left side of the slide it has patent dates and the Colt logo and on the bottom of the frame on the left side it reads US Army 6mm. The grips can be exchanged with real Colt grips. The sights are also good for aiming on this pistol. However, they do not have white dots for better aiming in low light. The power is nice on this gun too. It shoots around 300 FPS, and leaves some nice sized welts.
Back to the guns realism. I know a guy who has a real Colt M1911, and I showed him this one. Upon picking it up he stated that "It felt exactly like the one he owned."
All in all, this airsoft gun is a great weapon for collectors or skirmishers alike. Enjoy!

I bought a KWC M1911A1, and, as of right now its the only gun i have ( im in between guns) and its a nice sidarm, the hop ups a little screwy i'd advise using .20 instead of .12's. The velocity is awesome too it shoots consistanly at 310-315 FPS. The ONLY thing wrong with it is that if you take the clip out when there is still rounds in it, two rounds fall out. overall great gun!

Anyone got a link to where I can get this gun? Every website I go on is either out of stock or ridiculously overpriced (160-220 bucks!) I need a good ump 45, my friend has been gloating about his ak 47 for days now and I need to shut him up with a good old smg style beating.
