Basic Information
The KWA SR-10 is one of the newest additions to KWA's lineup. The gun is available from Airsoft GI for $385.00 which includes the gun, standard M4 style High Capacity magazine, manual, cleaning rod, barrel cover, and sight adjustment tools.

Product Description/First Impressions:
The box is a nice, simple black, white, and gray design featuring the KWA logo on the front. Upon opening the box you will find a styrofoam tray containing the gun, manual, and accessories.

The included high capacity magazine is of a dark gray color and holds 350 rounds. The manual is a clean black and white manual. The gun has KWA trademarks on the receiver and rail. Sorry, no authentic trademarks here.

Externals
While the gun may not have any authentic trademarks, the overall quality of the externals are fantastic. The machining is top notch, which is especially noticeable (and appreciated) on the rail. No rounded corners or poor fitment here. The edges are very clean and precise, almost to the point of being sharp. Every time I pickup the gun by the rail I am struck by how much closer it feels to my real AR's rails than most airsoft rails.

The receiver as with the rails is very cleanly made with all the holes and lines being very precise. The receiver is a nice matte dark gray which isn't quite black. The mag release, dust cover, selector switch, trigger and bolt catch are a matte gray. The receiver pins are black and lock on using an allen head screw.

The dust cover locks into place quite firmly which is nice. Pulling back the charging handle moves the mock bolt back to allow you to adjust the hopup. The hopup is adjusted in the normal manner for M4's by rotating the wheel clock wise or counter clock wise.

The pistol grip is ABS and well made with no visible seam line on it. The motor plate is the non-standard heat sink variety with a flat head adjustment plate.

Internals
The internals of the gun are as solid as the externals. The first thing you notice are the nice big 9mm bearing bushings. If you've ever taken apart an AEG, you will immediately notice how large they are. They are a perfect fit in the gearbox and don't fall out like they do on some cheaper guns.

The next thing that was immediately noticeable upon taking apart the gun is the fact it's not over lubed/greased like most guns are these days. I did not feel any need to clean off the grease or add more to it. Everything else on the gun was as it should be as well. While the gearbox fits into non-KWA receivers, it is by no means a standard Tokyo Marui style gearbox. The nozzle must be replaced to use a non-KWA receiver/hopup. The spring guide is a version 3 spring guide.

Just about all the internals are black which look very nice, but did make pictures a bit more difficult than normal. With that in mind I'll only be posting the two pictures on here, but more are available on my site. The cylinder is a pretty standard brass cylinder with 1 hole. The gears are steel and of KWA's proprietary design. The gearbox is also of KWA's design with extra re-enforcement vs normal TM style gearboxes. The wiring is pretty standard for any high end AEG. The piston is a black polycarb piston with aluminum head.

The hopup is a plastic two piece design and the copper barrel is pretty normal for a stock gun. Replacing it with the EDGI barrel was a breeze.

Power/Magazines
The gun comes with a crane stock capable of holding 2/3A cells if you are using a NiMh/NiCd battery. I personally decided to use an 11.1v 15C Firefox stock tube battery in mine as it's lighter and provides a superior trigger response. The gun uses standard STANAG style M16 magazines, I tested it with G&G and ICS mags both of which worked fine.

Performance Characteristics:
Performance wise, out of the box, it is one of the best stock guns I have ever shot. The gun chrono'd at 364fps (.25g Airsoft Elite's) @ 1570rpm using a Hot Power 11.1v 20C 4400mah LiPo. Accuracy was exceptional for a stock gun, shooting 2" groupings from 90' with no brace whatsoever. Even with a slight cross wind, it put all the BB's within 4" from dead center from 90' standing.

I would say with a bipod or proper brace you would be looking at 1.5" groupings, maybe less from 90'. I can't wait to see what it does with a tight bore barrel. Even in stock form this gun will not have an issue running against upgraded guns. Upgraded with the EDGI barrel from the KWA Pro Shop, using a grip pod the groupings improved to sub 1.0" groupings from 90'. I would highly recommend getting a EDGI barrel for the gun.

Accessories/Modifications
Since the gun is based off the well known M16 platform, that means there's a never ending supply of accessories and modifications that can be done to it. Personally, I swapped the standard A2 style grip with a Magpul MIAD and the trigger guard with a Star Knights Armament Sniper version and called it good.

Skirmish Results
The gun performed flawlessly on the field and is an exceptionally skirmish worth gun right out of the box. I'm really hard pressed to find a flaw with this guns performance. The accuracy is fantastic and the gun never misfired or jammed. Even with extended shooting on full auto, the grip only got slightly warm.

Conclusion:
This gun features exceptional accuracy out of the box combined with solid externals which makes this a fantastic gun for people who want to be able to just buy a gun and run with it. The solid internals means it's an equally good choice for people who want to upgrade the internals. Swapping the stock barrel out for an EDGI barrel made it into just about the most accurate AEG I've ever used.

End Notes:
Many thanks to KWA USA for providing this gun for review.
