UHC 934S Revolver review by XavierMace
Discuss this review here.
Basic Information
The UHC 934S is a 6" Spring Revolver. The gun uses 6 plastic shells, each of which hold one BB. The gun features a fixed hopup and is loaded like a real revolver. The gun is available from Airsoft Atlanta for $24.99.
Product Description/first Impressions:
The gun comes in a colorful package with pictures of some of their revolvers and a list of product features. Inside the package you will find the gun, shells, a bag of .12g BB's, and a collection of manuals.
The shells are made of plastic and each one holds one BB. The box only has spots for 6 shells, but mine also had two extras laying under the other ones.
Externals
The gun comes with a silver finish and a faux wood grip. The gun is effectively all plastic save for the rod for the cylinder and a few other bits.
The sights are non adjustable, but do what they need to do. There's not too many pieces with this gun, so despite it being all plastic, it doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart in your hands.
Internals
As this is a $25 spring gun, I am not going to be taking it down as there's not much there to see. If somebody is that concerned about the quality of the internals, they may want to look for a more expensive gun.
Power/Magazines
The gun is a spring powered replica. The gun is cocked by pulling back on the hammer, just like a real revolver. The hammer has a lighter pull than I was initially expecting, but that explains the velocity of the gun. The gun uses plastic shells, each of which holds 1 BB.
The gun is a breeze to load. You just shove a BB in the back of each shell, drop the shells into the cylinder, and snap it close. Pull the hammer and you are ready to fire.
Performance Characteristics:
The gun shoots a blazing 172fps with .12g BB's which makes it great for plinking around the backyard without fear of damaging anything. Accuracy was actually better than I expected giving the velocity of the gun and it's general build.
Given the fact the BB's were unable to penetrate the target, it was difficult to tell what shots were actually hitting. The gun was able to hit the target pretty consistently from 25-30 feet.
Accessories/Modifications
It's a spring revolver. Plain, simple, does it's job. There's not really much else to do with it.
Skirmish Results
The gun fared quite well in my backyard, disposing of pesky pop cans with ease. It even took out a clothes pin.
Conclusion:
While the gun might not have much use in a skirmish, there's something about a shell loaded revolver that just makes you laugh when using it. It's great fun for just goofing off with as it's power is low enough to not cause damage to anything.
End Notes:
Many thanks to Airsoft Atlanta for providing the gun for review.
